Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Where Are You Going So Late?

While Luke was sound asleep, Saito was bathing in the hot spring.

His pale and tight upper body emerged from the water. Saito leaned against the edge, the unease in his heart gradually vanishing, his face full of relaxation.

At the same time, he was planning tonight's actions. He would wait until late at night when the Luke mother and son were asleep, then sneak into their room, grab Luke, and leave immediately. He didn't need to care whether Akane Natsume woke up or not.

Mere humans wouldn't have time to react in the dark, let alone just waking up from a deep sleep.

As for Luke's uncle, he wasn't considering him at all; he couldn't possibly sleep in the same room as Akane Natsume and her son.

Saito still thought Luke had an uncle.

Next, Saito would take Luke to the Hyakuya Sect headquarters for experiments, while also modifying Luke's memories.

The children of the Hyakuya Orphanage were all like this.

Speaking of which, there was an experimental subject in the Hyakuya Sect recently with very high compatibility with the Seraph. It was said the experimental progress was unexpectedly pleasing, and in a while, they would be sent to the Hyakuya Orphanage for observation.

Saito stretched and submerged his upper body into the hot spring.

Calculating the time, the Vampire spies must have already started investigating this city in the shadows; he had to hurry.

While Saito was thinking, several screams came from the Women's bath next door.

"Ah! There's a pervert!"

Followed by a man's cry of pain.

Saito frowned.

Another pervert?! I really don't get it. A bunch of humans with lifespans of barely a hundred years, always doing stupid things because of their desires.

Not long after, a wretched man with glasses walked in, covering his face with his left hand and pressing his waist with his right, muttering to himself.

"What bad luck. I didn't even get to see that silver-haired babe, and I got beaten up by a group of old ladies. What a loss."

Yamamura Koushi walked into the Men's bath and looked around; there was only one person inside.

Looking at that person, although he was soaking in the water, his hairstyle remained dry. His body wasn't visible, only a pale but handsome face was exposed, his expression as calm as still water, his eyes full of depth.

"Tch, what's the use of being handsome? He must be a host. A man with such a pale face is definitely weak. Who knows how many rich women have played with him? He'll die in a woman's bed sooner or later."

Yamamura Koushi cursed Saito in a jealous whisper.

How powerful was Saito's hearing? He originally didn't want to pay attention to such a loser, but he wasn't exactly a Mr. Nice Guy. Anyone would be angry being talked about like that.

Saito stood up, wrapping his vital parts with a bath towel. His firm upper body muscles left Yamamura Koushi stunned.

"Wha... what do you... want to do?"

Seeing Saito walking towards him, Yamamura Koushi couldn't even speak properly.

Saito was expressionless, his eyes turning crimson.

"It seems no one taught you not to speak ill of others."

...Saito put on his bathrobe and walked out of the Men's bath, holding a towel to wipe the blood off his hands, his gaze still calm.

If nothing unexpected happened, Yamamura Koushi probably wouldn't have to work for food and clothing anymore, because he now had zero demand for energy...'Sekai de Ichiban Ohime-sama...' (Song Title: World's Number One Princess)

Miku's singing voice echoed softly. A tiny figure that only Luke could see was holding a microphone, singing to her heart's content by Luke's ear.

Luke struggled to open his eyes, but they closed again before they could focus.

"Let me... sleep for two more minutes..."

Seeing Luke fall back asleep, Miku had no choice but to change to a more stimulating song.

Miku raised the microphone and took a deep breath.

"Self-interrogation, infinite bitter words, it's bad"

"Running aground on the reef of frustration"

"New pain from the frontal lobe..." (Song Title: Brain Fluid Explosion Girl)

This time Luke was truly awake.

How could anyone sleep with this song playing in the middle of the night?

Composing himself, Luke told Miku to stop singing.

Miku waved playfully at Luke and vanished into points of light.

Confirming that Akane Natsume hadn't woken up, Luke tiptoed out of bed.

"Mm, time for business."

Getting dressed and picking up a flashlight, Luke prepared to set out.

Just as he opened the door, Luke saw a figure blocking the way.

Luke:?

Looking up, he saw Saito, who looked just as bewildered as he did.

As a good youth, Luke was still very polite.

"Konbanwa?"

Saito:?

...At 12:30 AM, the bright moon hung in the sky, silver light drenching the earth, illuminating the city and the people.

Saito walked out of the inn pulling a suitcase. The suitcase was bulging, with a half-palm-wide gap left. He was the only one on the street.

He observed his surroundings and walked unhurriedly towards the other side of the city, where subordinates from the Hyakuya Sect would meet him.

With the Vampires in the shadows, it wasn't convenient for the Hyakuya Sect to appear near Sanguinem.

Luke walking right into his trap saved him quite a bit of trouble.

Where was he going so late?

"Where are you going so late? Rigr Stafford."

A girl's voice suddenly rang out, her tone full of mockery.

Saito's body stiffened. He looked up to see a pink-haired girl in a short skirt and detached sleeves standing on a billboard, looking down at him.

Saito suddenly felt a movement from the suitcase.

Krul?! It's Krul, right! That voice is definitely hers! Let me out!

Saito frowned. He woke up so soon?

Then, with a seemingly casual kick to the suitcase, the suitcase went quiet.

Inside the suitcase, Luke wasn't feeling very comfortable.

Crap, kicking that hard? Aiming right for my face, you bastard! I think my nose is bleeding. I can't move, this is miserable.

Outside, Saito didn't know where he had kicked Luke, but the suitcase had indeed settled down.

"If it isn't Krul. It's been a long time, over a thousand years, hasn't it? I'm glad to meet you here."

Saito gave Krul a gentlemanly bow.

Krul leapt down from the billboard over ten meters high, landing on the ground without a sound.

She naturally noticed Saito's little movement, but she wasn't interested in it.

She slowly walked towards Saito.

"Oh? But you don't look very happy to see me. By the way, your current appearance really makes it hard for me to recognize you."

Krul wore a kind smile.

"I'm just surprised. My current appearance is only to better integrate with humans."

Saito remained expressionless.

"How could it be a surprise? You should have expected it. When the Second Progenitor who betrayed the Vampires comes near a Vampire city, as the Third Progenitor, I would certainly come to find out your purpose."

"Well? Are you willing to share your intentions with me?"

Krul had an inquiring look on her face.

On the other hand, Saito was ready for battle at any moment.

"Just here to pick up a child, happened to be nearby."

Krul naturally didn't believe him.

"I don't think anyone's child has such a grand arrival that it's worth you personally coming to pick them up, especially coming out at night."

Saito knew his words weren't convincing; Krul certainly wouldn't believe him.

Right now, he wasn't as relaxed as he appeared on the surface.

Next, he would probably have to use combat to solve the problem.

Although he was the Vampire Second Progenitor and Krul was the Third Progenitor, and his rank was higher, it didn't mean he could crush Krul.

On the contrary, Krul, who had long held the position of Third Progenitor, still had her strength improving from time to time. She was now much stronger than Lest Karr, who was also a Third Progenitor.

Although Saito would naturally win if they really fought, it wouldn't be an instant kill. If the commotion was too big, it would cause unnecessary trouble.

There might even be other lower-ranked progenitors watching in the shadows.

Krul was taking advantage of this concern of Saito's to dare to intercept him alone; she just wanted to find out his purpose here.

If the situation wasn't right, Krul would naturally leave, but now Saito was carrying a suitcase, so it wasn't like he could just leave whenever he wanted.

Saito pondered his next move.

"Are you silent because you miss me so much you can't speak?"

Seeing Saito remain silent for a while, Krul teased.

"This..."

Just as Saito was about to answer, Krul suddenly rushed at him.

Without time to think, Saito kicked the suitcase to the side and began to exchange blows with Krul.

Crap! Is this never going to end? I didn't even make a sound!

Poor Luke could only silently weep in the suitcase.

Saito clearly lost his temper as well, changing from defending at the start to attacking. His physical attributes were slightly superior to Krul's in all aspects, and he soon gained the upper hand.

"Leave now. I have no interest in Sanguinem for the time being."

Krul dodged a side kick from Saito and responded with a smile:

"Meaning you will in the future?"

Saito was silent.

Lights began to turn on in the surrounding houses; clearly, someone had been awakened by the commotion between the two.

Seeing this, Saito's face grew darker and darker.

"If we keep fighting, it won't be good for either of our plans."

"What plans do I have? I'd love to put the Vampires out in the open. Sanguinem has been quite short of blood lately."

Krul looked indifferent.

Just then, a modified sedan drove from a distance and stopped not far behind Saito.

"Mr. Saito, get in quickly! People from the Emperor Demon organization are chasing us!"
