I woke up slowly, the kind of slow where your body remembers everything before your mind does.
The first thing I felt was the soreness.
It wasn't sharp or painful — it was a deep, warm ache between my legs and in my lower back, the kind that reminded me exactly what had happened last night. Every time I shifted even a little, I felt it. A pleasant reminder that Jax had been inside me, stretching me, filling me, loving me so completely that I had forgotten how to think.
I tried to sit up and winced softly.
Jax was already awake. He was lying on his side, watching me with those warm brown eyes that always made my chest feel tight. His hair was messy from sleep, and there was a soft, satisfied smile on his lips.
"Good morning," he said, voice still rough from last night.
"Morning," I mumbled, trying to sit up again. The moment my ass touched the mattress, I let out a small hiss and shifted my weight.
