Chapter 79 - "The Guardians Of Destiny Society Vs God 's Sister The Empty And The Teenagers Vs The Beast Of Gevaudan"(79)

**Chapter 79: "The Guardians Of Destiny Society Vs God Sister The Empty And The Teenagers Vs The Beast Of Gevaudan"{79}**

---

**Somewhere Over the Atlantic – Guardian Transport Fleet**

The planes cut through the clouds like knives.

Every Guardians of Destiny Society member who could still stand had boarded within the hour. Cain sat with the End Blade across his knees. Abel regenerated a missing finger while staring out the window. Michael's wings were folded tight against the bulkhead. Lucifer hadn't spoken since takeoff. Sasha Moya checked the live feeds from the White House every thirty seconds. Nathan Moya sat in silence, illusion energy already leaking from his fingertips in thin grey threads.

Peter Shotstock leaned over to Rona.

"First time I've ever wanted to land in America this bad."

Rona didn't smile.

Below them, the ocean looked too calm.

**White House – South Lawn – Arrival**

The first plane touched down hard.

Military units already ringed the building. Secret Service, National Guard, and something heavier that didn't wear uniforms. Then a black van screeched up onto the grass. The side door slammed open.

Devonte Murtizy stepped out holding an AK-57 like it was an old friend. He walked straight through the cordon. No one stopped him. The soldiers who recognized the name simply stepped aside.

Cohen Washington stood on the South Portico in a black suit, tie already loosened. The moment Devonte reached the steps, Cohen's body shifted. Feathers of pure white-and-gold energy exploded outward. His arms became wings. His eyes turned into burning amber.

**Super Eagle.**

The transformation finished just as the rest of the Guardians poured out of the planes.

Nathan Moya was the first to enter the Oval Office.

God was already inside.

So was The Empty.

Keisha's body sat in the President's chair, legs crossed, smiling with someone else's mouth. The void in her chest pulsed slowly. God stood opposite her, still wearing Gerald's form, hands in his pockets like this was a family argument that had gone on too long.

Nathan closed the door behind him.

Three powers that should never have shared the same room now did.

Outside, The Emptiness began to rise.

It came up through the lawn like black water, swallowing grass, concrete, and the first line of soldiers without a sound. Gideon The Phantom's head snapped toward the east wing. Through the shifting absence he saw the logo burned into the air itself—

**VIREX.**

The company that had cut him open years ago. The company that had tried to turn him into a weapon and failed. Seeing the name again made something cold and old open inside his chest.

Ryan's voice cut across the comms, sharp and sudden.

"Wait.

Wait.

Okay—we need to wait."

No one asked why. They had learned the hard way that when Ryan said wait, the next five seconds usually decided who lived.

Bane Mugabe was already moving.

His hands blurred. Giant tech pillars tore up from the ground around the White House, black metal and glowing blue circuitry, rising fifty meters into the sky in seconds. They locked into a perfect hexagonal formation.

A new voice rolled across the sky like thunder given form.

Thor arrived mid-air, hammer already raised.

Lightning answered him. Bolts thicker than trees slammed into every pillar at once. The entire structure lit up like a second sun, forming a cage of pure electricity around the White House and the rising Emptiness.

For one heartbeat, the absence recoiled.

**Willowbrook High – Soccer Field – Same Time**

The crowd was loud.

Bangu received the ball at the edge of the box, cut inside once, and buried it top corner. Fifth goal of the game. The stands erupted. Bella was on her feet, hands cupped around her mouth, screaming his name.

Then the roar hit.

It wasn't human.

It wasn't animal.

It was older than both.

Kevin Leister was already sprinting from the sideline before the second roar finished. The Mythical Matrix flared across his chest in white-blue light.

The Beast of Gévaudan dropped out of the empty air above the center circle like a meteor of fur and hatred. Twelve feet of scarred muscle, yellow eyes, and a maw that had eaten villages. Its first punch caught Kevin square in the chest and launched him through the scoreboard.

Wood and metal exploded.

Wyatt Freeman's voice tore across the field.

"EVERYONE RUN! NOW!"

Students and parents scattered in every direction. The Beast landed where the midfield circle used to be and sniffed the air once, already choosing who would die next.

---

**Abandoned Storage Lot – Three Blocks Away**

Ignis, Lancelot, Daniel, and Godfrey found the body first.

Jennifer's original body lay slumped against a dumpster, eyes open, skin grey. They had been tracking the body-jumper for two days. Seeing the empty shell should have been the end of it.

It wasn't.

A gunshot cracked.

Daniel's shoulder jerked back. Blood sprayed. Jennifer (wearing a new host) stepped out from behind the dumpster, pistol still raised.

Daniel's arm mutated on pure instinct. Bone and muscle warped, turning into a dense, armored limb. He closed the distance in two steps and punched her so hard the host body folded around his fist.

Ignis and Lancelot moved together. Water erupted from both of them, shaping into high-pressure missiles that screamed across the lot. Three of them hit the host body and tore pieces off it.

Godfrey was already at the original corpse. He uncapped the flask of holy water and dumped the entire contents across the grey skin. The body began to smoke and thrash even though it was empty.

Jennifer's current host screamed. She shoved Godfrey away hard enough to send him sliding across asphalt, then raised a knife to finish him.

Fire took her first.

Ignis's flames caught the host body from the inside. Jennifer burned while still inside it, shrieking with two voices at once. Daniel, arm still mutated, raised the stolen pistol and put two rounds through both of the host's eyes.

The body dropped.

Silence returned to the lot.

The four of them stared at each other, breathing hard.

Ignis wiped blood from his lip.

"School. Now."

They ran.

**Willowbrook High – Soccer Field – Moments Later**

Koa was already down, one arm bent the wrong way. Lucifer Jr.'s wings were shredded and smoking. The other powered teenagers were getting folded one after another. The Beast of Gévaudan moved like it had been born for this exact slaughter.

Then they heard the car.

A black-and-white police cruiser tore onto the field, lights dead, engine screaming. It skidded sideways in a spray of dirt and grass.

The doors opened.

Jordan Pitas stepped out first — half-man, half-machine, police badge still welded to the metal of his chest, both arms converted into heavy ballistic cannons.

Fenrir the Nightwolf dropped from the passenger side already mid-shift, black fur exploding across his body, eyes burning silver.

The Guardsman came next, shield already locked onto his forearm, armor humming with kinetic storage.

Rodriguez Hernandez simply vanished the moment his boots hit the ground. The only sign he was there was the sudden, invisible pressure that made the Beast's head snap sideways, as if something unseen had just punched it in the jaw.

Jordan's voice cut across the field, distorted by his vocal modulator.

"School's closed, big dog.

Get the fuck off my lawn."

The Beast of Gévaudan turned fully toward the new arrivals.

Fenrir's howl answered it.

The Guardsman slammed his shield into the dirt and the stored kinetic energy detonated outward in a shockwave.

Rodriguez's invisible footsteps circled the monster like a noose tightening.

On the other side of the world, the lightning cage around the White House held for one more second.

Then The Emptiness pushed harder.

And both battles truly began.
