Alright, the Ultimate Green Goblin looked absolutely terrifying.
Just moments ago, Norman had been a slender, almost frail-looking man. But once he transformed into the Ultimate Green Goblin, the muscles all over his body became more intimidating than Hellboy's. His entire body was blue-green, huge wings stretched out from his back, his mouth was full of fangs, and horns rose from his head. He looked part lizard, part something else entirely.
Maybe in the Ultimate Universe, the Goblin hadn't just used the Goblin Serum. Maybe he'd also taken the Lizard Serum, which caused the uncontrolled mutation and turned him into this dragon-like, half-human monster.
"When it comes to Peter, I can't bring myself to strike! But when it comes to Spider-Man, I have no such hesitation! I'm going to avenge my Harry!!!"
As he shouted, flames suddenly burst from the Ultimate Green Goblin's eyes. The temperature was unbelievably high, almost like heat vision.
Peter and little Goblin Harry instantly scattered to dodge. A deafening blast followed, and Peter looked back at the hole behind him with lingering fear.
"I swear... this Goblin is ridiculously hard to deal with. He's got heat vision now. If I didn't know better, I'd think the Dragon Lord showed up..."
Then again, the Dragon Lord was also a big green dragon, so it wasn't that far off.
"Dragon Lord? What's that?"
Little Goblin Harry had drifted to Peter's side on his glider at some point. Hearing him mumbling, he asked in confusion.
"A green dragon that shoots red beams from its eyes and kind of looks like a lizard."
"Now that you put it that way, yeah, he really does."
Little Goblin Harry nodded, then pressed a button. Several Pumpkin Bombs fired from the glider beneath his feet and shot straight at the Ultimate Green Goblin.
The bombs exploded the moment they struck him, and the whole place was swallowed in smoke. Within the haze, only those orange-red eyes remained visible.
"Harry, tricks like that won't defeat me. No matter what, you're still my son from another universe, and I won't hurt you. Once I deal with Peter and kill Kingpin, I'll send you back to your universe, and then I'll go find my Harry!"
Smoke without damage. Classic rule.
Little Goblin Harry's Pumpkin Bombs had done absolutely nothing to the Ultimate Green Goblin.
Or maybe they had done some damage, but because of the Lizard Serum's regeneration, it healed instantly.
"I don't think that's a very good idea."
At some point, Peter had already moved behind the Ultimate Green Goblin. Several strands of web shot out, wrapping the monster completely, and then two more strands locked him firmly in place.
"Harry, now! We have to snap Norman back to his senses!"
"Got it!"
Little Goblin Harry didn't hesitate. He pulled out another Pumpkin Bomb, activated it, and shoved it straight into the Ultimate Green Goblin's mouth.
Youth has no price. Today, the son goes all out on his dad.
What a touching display of family love.
This Pumpkin Bomb was clearly much stronger than the earlier ones. Its explosive force sent out a huge shockwave that blasted the Ultimate Green Goblin away.
Looking at the damaged building, Peter gave a thumbs-up.
Then the two exchanged a look, and with one riding a glider and the other swinging on webs, they rushed after him to continue the fight.
The huge explosion and smoke pouring out of Oscorp Tower were impossible for people nearby to ignore. Plenty of bystanders looked up to see what was happening, though one unlucky guy got his head smashed open by a falling chunk of debris.
Which just proved one thing.
It was better not to watch the excitement. Otherwise, you might not even know how you died.
"Oh my God! What just flew out of there?! It looked like some mutated lizard!"
"This is the second explosion at Oscorp Tower this year, isn't it?"
"Hey, the guy on the glider looks awesome! Wait, that's Spider-Man?! Didn't Peter Parker already die?!"
"Who knows? Superheroes and supervillains always pull stuff like this. One fakes their death, then the other does it. It's just one big game to them."
The people nearby weren't panicking over the unlucky guy at all. Instead, they were looking up and talking animatedly about what they'd just seen.
After more than ten years of this sort of thing, maybe they were just used to seeing supervillains and superheroes tear the city apart.
Better to stay satisfied with life.
Otherwise, spending every day scared out of your mind would be miserable.
Boom!!!
A huge green figure was smashed deep into the wall of the neighboring building.
Pain tore through every inch of his body. Shock filled his eyes as he looked up at the two figures rushing toward him.
He had been careless.
He hadn't expected Spider-Man and little Goblin Harry to work together so smoothly, nor had he expected them to attack without giving him even a second to react.
The situation made him both angry and strangely proud.
No matter the universe, Harry would never disappoint him as a son.
And that only strengthened his determination to find his own Harry.
"Calm down, Norman! I don't care what you're trying to do, but your current state is a disaster! Another personality is controlling you, turning you into a monster. That's not something any version of Harry would want to see, is it?!"
"And if you join my team, I can completely remove the side effects you're dealing with!"
Peter wasn't lying.
If the Ultimate Green Goblin joined his team, and little Goblin Harry did too, then the optimization serums from the system rewards could completely erase the side effects in their bodies. Their power might even rise to another level.
The Ultimate Green Goblin clawed his way out of the wall. Flames burned around him from the explosion, and he had done a fair amount of damage to his old enemy's tower, but he didn't care about that now.
With a single flap of his wings, the raging fire was blown out. A wave of heat crashed over Peter and little Goblin Harry, and then the Ultimate Green Goblin shot up into the sky.
At the same time, he pulled out something that looked like a pumpkin-shaped bomb and hurled it downward.
As the red spherical object came closer and closer, Peter's upgraded spider-sense briefly showed him the result if he failed to dodge.
In that short vision, both he and little Goblin Harry were blown away. Their injuries weren't fatal, but they looked badly battered.
"Oh, this thing looks way stronger than a Pumpkin Bomb!"
Peter shoved little Goblin Harry aside and jumped away himself.
"What? That shouldn't be possible..."
Little Goblin Harry stared in shock. The small pumpkin-shaped bomb exploded with several times the force of his own Pumpkin Bombs. Part of the rooftop began to collapse, his ears rang violently, and he muttered in disbelief:
"You were right, Peter..."
