Aria's POV
Organizing an emergency summit when half the wolf world wanted me dead was harder than destroying the Council had been.
"Viktor's faction is refusing to attend," Derek reported. "They say they'd rather take their chances with humans than ally with you."
"Viktor's an idiot," I muttered. "What about the others?"
"About sixty percent confirmed. The rest are undecided or hostile."
Sixty percent would have to be enough.
We scheduled the summit for three days later at a neutral location. Not the Grand Celestial Hotel where the last one had been held. This time we chose an old convention center on the outskirts of the city. Easier to defend, harder to trap us inside.
Or so we thought.
The day of the summit, alphas started arriving from territories all over the region. Some came with full entourages. Some came alone. All of them looked nervous.
"This is either going to unite us or start a civil war," Leah said as we watched them file in.
