Aria's POV
The pain finally started to fade on the third day.
Lucian had stayed with me through all of it, never leaving my side except to get food or water.
"How are you feeling?" he asked when I finally managed to sit up without wincing.
"Better. Tired. But better." I looked at him. "You look terrible."
"Thanks. That's what every guy wants to hear."
"I'm serious. When's the last time you slept?"
"I've been sleeping—"
"Lying down next to me while you watch me in pain doesn't count as sleeping." I touched his face. "Thank you. For everything. For staying with me."
"Where else would I be?"
"I don't know. Anywhere but here dealing with my mess." I pulled my knees up to my chest. "I almost slept with him, you know. Damon. That night before Selene showed me the stalker photos. He came to my cabin and I let him in and we almost…"
