I watched the Summit coverage on my laptop with growing rage.
Aria f**king Corvus.
That's all anyone could talk about. How brave she was. How strong. How she'd single-handedly brought down the Council.
And Damon… Damon had been right there supporting her. Fighting for her. Looking at her like she was the only woman in the world.
Like I didn't exist.
I'd spent ten years building my life with Damon. Ten years as his partner, his lover, his wife in everything but the legal paperwork we'd never bothered to finalize. Ten years helping him build his power base, his network, his empire.
And now this little Luna shows up and suddenly I'm irrelevant?
I don't think so.
I picked up my phone and made a call.
"Ms. Cross," a male voice answered. "I was wondering when I'd hear from you."
"I have a job for you, Marcus." I smiled.
"I'm listening."
"Aria Corvus. The Luna who just destroyed the Council. I want her dead."
