Leah's POV
I woke up at dawn because my wolf wouldn't shut up.
Something was wrong and I could feel it in my bones, that prickly sensation that meant danger was close. I'd learned to trust that feeling over the years, especially since joining Aria's pack.
I got dressed quickly and grabbed my phone, checked the time and it was three AM. The compound was quiet, everyone still asleep after yesterday's chaos at the Summit. We'd all been exhausted when we got back, running on adrenaline and fear.
I should have increased security, posted more guards and done a lot of things. But I'd been so focused on making sure Aria was okay that I'd let my guard down.
I walked outside and did a perimeter check. Everything looked normal. The guards at the main gate were alert, nothing unusual. But my wolf was still growling, still insisting something was off.
