Aria's POV
"How many packs will follow that order?" Mateo asked.
"Too many," Miriam said. "The Council has spent decades building relationships, doing favors, holding leverage over other alphas. When they call in those debts, most packs won't have a choice but to comply."
"So what do I do?" I asked.
"You move first," Miriam said. "Before they can paint you as a criminal, you expose them for what they really are. Show the other packs the evidence your parents gathered. Make them see that the Council is the real threat, not you."
"You know about the evidence?" Lucian asked sharply.
"I know your parents were investigating us, yes. And I know Damon Nightshade has been holding onto their research." She looked at me. "Use it, Aria. Show the wolves what the Council really is. Give them a reason to stand against us."
"Why should I believe you're actually trying to help me?" I asked.
