Lucian's POV
I was already at the Moonvale training facility when Aria arrived the next morning.
She looked tired, like she hadn't slept well, and there were dark circles under her eyes that made me want to pull her into my arms and tell her everything would be okay.
But we weren't there yet. We were still in this weird in-between space where we'd slept together but hadn't defined what we were to each other. And I was trying really hard not to push her for answers she wasn't ready to give.
"Morning," she said, dropping her gym bag on the bench. "Thanks for doing this."
"Of course. The Summit is in four days. You need to be ready for anything." I handed her a water bottle. "How are you feeling?"
"Stressed. Overwhelmed. Terrified that I'm going to screw this up and get everyone killed." She took a long drink. "You know, the usual."
