Aria's POV
I woke up wrapped around Lucian, his arm heavy across my waist and his breath warm against my neck.
For a moment, I let myself just enjoy it. The weight of him beside me, the safety I felt in his arms, the way my body fit perfectly against his.
Then reality came crashing back.
The Summit was tomorrow. Tomorrow. And I was lying here in bed with one man while still having unresolved feelings for another, and my ex-husband was somewhere out there supporting me even though I'd destroyed him.
My life was a mess.
Lucian stirred and tightened his hold on me. "Stop thinking so loud," he mumbled. "I can hear your brain working from here."
"Sorry."
"Don't be." He kissed my shoulder. "How are you feeling?"
"Terrified. Overwhelmed. Like I'm about to make the biggest mistake of my life."
"The Summit or us?"
"The Summit. Us is…" I turned to face him. "I don't know what us is."
