Aria's POV
The guards moved forward quickly to take Marcus, Jonas, and Bella away. The heavy footsteps echoed through the big council chamber like thunder. Marcus fought hard against them. He pushed and pulled with all his strength, trying to break free from their grip. But he was outnumbered. Four strong guards held him tight, their faces serious and determined. Jonas went quietly. He kept his head down and did not say a word or make a single move to resist. Bella was crying loudly. Tears ran down her face as she begged them to let her go. Her sobs filled the air and made my stomach twist.
As the guards dragged them toward the big doors at the back of the room, Marcus turned his head and glared at me with pure hate in his eyes. "This isn't over," he snarled. His voice was low and dangerous, like a growl from deep in his chest. "I have allies. Powerful allies who won't let this stand. They will come for you and make you pay."
