Aria POV
Two guards went to get the assassin from the holding cells. They dragged him in, still bound with silver-laced rope, and forced him to kneel in the center of the room.
"State your name," Elder Theron commanded.
"Derek. Derek Morrison," the assassin said. He looked scared, which was good.
"And who hired you to kill Luna Aria?"
"Bella Caldwell," Derek said. "She paid us fifty thousand dollars to make sure the Luna didn't make it to this hearing. She said Alpha Marcus had approved it."
"Lies!" someone shouted from the back of the room.
I turned and saw Alpha Marcus standing there with Bella next to him. They must've just arrived.
"These are all lies fabricated by a desperate woman who knows she's about to lose everything!" Marcus continued. "My daughter would never—"
"Sit down, Alpha Marcus," Elder Theron said coldly. "You'll have your turn to speak."
