Chapter 27 - The Day Everything Changed

Everyone had gone to sleep that night, exhausted after a long day of laughter, games, and carefree moments. The cold wind outside whispered through the pine trees, and the mountains stood silently under the pale moonlight.

None of them knew…

The next day would become the most terrifying day of their lives.

Morning arrived like any other.

The sky was clear, the air fresh, and everything felt… normal.

It was their last day of the trip, and naturally, everyone wanted to make the most of it.

"Let's explore a bit more," David suggested while stretching.

"Yeah, one last adventure," Noah added with a grin.

But not everyone wanted to go far. Some of them were tired and preferred staying back at the hotel area, enjoying the warmth and relaxing atmosphere.

So, the group split.

Daniel, David, and Noah decided to explore deeper into the forest.

The rest—Mary, Lily, Zoya, Lucy, and Felix—stayed behind.

The Forest

The forest felt different this time.

The moment they stepped inside, a strange uneasiness crept into their hearts.

"Do you feel that?" Noah asked quietly.

Daniel nodded. "Yeah… something's off."

Before they could think further—

ROARRR!!

A strange creature suddenly jumped out from the shadows.

It wasn't a normal animal.

Its body was twisted, eyes glowing faintly, and its movements were unnatural.

"What the—?!" David shouted.

The creature attacked without reason.

They dodged quickly, barely escaping its claws.

"Don't fight it!" Daniel yelled. "Something's wrong—just run!"

The three of them kept dodging and running, barely managing to escape its attacks.

After a few tense minutes, they finally broke free and rushed back toward the hotel.

Something Was Wrong

But the moment they arrived…

They froze.

Everyone was lying on the ground.

Unconscious.

"Mary!!" Daniel shouted, running toward her.

"Lucy! Zoya! Lily! Felix!" David panicked.

No response.

Their bodies were cold, motionless.

"What the hell happened…?" Noah whispered.

Daniel immediately checked Mary's pulse.

"She's alive… but weak."

Relief hit—but only slightly.

Then reality struck.

"Where's Mr. Stone?"

Silence.

And then they remembered.

He had left earlier for some urgent work, saying he would return the next day.

Which meant—

They were completely alone.

The Fog

Suddenly, the air grew colder.

The fog thickened unnaturally, covering everything around them.

"Stay alert…" David said, his voice low.

The three of them ran to their bags.

And without saying anything—

All three of them took out their weapons.

Daniel held his blade.

David summoned his Four Fangs.

Noah drew his sword.

For a moment, they looked at each other in shock.

"You brought yours too?" Noah said.

Daniel smirked slightly. "Looks like we all thought the same."

No time for questions.

Something was coming.

The Third Rank Ghost

From within the fog…

A figure emerged.

Dark.

Tall.

Terrifying.

A ghost.

But not an ordinary one.

Its presence alone made their bodies freeze.

"This… this is bad…" David muttered.

The ghost moved.

FAST.

Before they could react—

BOOM!

They were thrown back violently.

Pain shot through their bodies.

They tried attacking together.

Daniel charged.

Noah followed.

David launched his Four Fangs.

But—

Nothing worked.

The ghost didn't even flinch.

It was on a completely different level.

"A… Third Rank…" Daniel whispered in shock.

"Why… why would something like this be here?" Noah said, struggling to stand.

They kept fighting.

But it was useless.

They were getting injured… again and again.

Target: Daniel Williams

The ghost slowly walked toward Daniel.

A cruel smile formed on its face.

"So… you are Daniel Williams."

Daniel's eyes widened.

"The sole heir of the Williams bloodline… such a powerful name."

David and Noah froze.

"How does it know that…?"

The ghost leaned closer.

"I was sent… to kill you."

A chill ran down Daniel's spine.

"To end the Williams bloodline."

David's Discovery

The ghost suddenly turned toward David.

"And you… who are you?"

It paused.

"You don't belong to any great family… yet something about you…"

David clenched his fists.

And then—

He heard something.

A voice.

But not spoken aloud.

Inside his head.

"I'll kill these two first… then finish Daniel slowly…"

David's eyes widened.

"I… can hear it…?"

He realized.

He was reading the ghost's mind.

Shock.

Fear.

And then—

Information flooded his mind.

The fog.

The poison.

Their unconscious friends.

"If the source isn't destroyed within two hours… they will all die…"

David's heart dropped.

"Everyone… will die…?"

And then another thought—

"Master will be pleased…"

David froze.

Master…?

So this wasn't random.

There was someone controlling all this.

Someone far more dangerous.

The Final Stand

The ghost attacked again.

David barely dodged.

Noah was already injured.

Daniel was struggling to stand.

"Think… think…" David muttered.

Fighting directly was useless.

They needed something else.

And then—

Suddenly—

The air changed.

Daniel's weapon…

Throne… reacted.

A strange energy surrounded him.

The ghost stopped moving.

"What… is this…?" it growled.

It couldn't move.

As if something invisible was holding it.

Daniel's eyes glowed faintly.

The weapon rose into the air.

David's Four Fangs lifted too.

Noah's sword trembled.

All three weapons—

Connected.

And in a single moment—

They attacked together.

A massive force struck the ghost.

For the first time—

It screamed.

The Fall

But the victory came at a cost.

The ghost, in its final rage, struck back.

Noah collapsed.

David was thrown aside.

And Daniel—

Took the full hit.

His body flew through the air…

And hit the ground.

Hard.

Too hard.

Silence

The fog slowly faded.

The unconscious group began waking up.

Mary opened her eyes.

"…Daniel?"

She saw him.

Lying there.

Not moving.

Her heart stopped.

"DANIEL!!"

She ran toward him.

Fell beside him.

Shook him desperately.

"Wake up… please wake up…"

No response.

His breathing…

Barely there.

Tears filled her eyes.

"No… no no no…"

Everyone gathered.

But no one spoke.

Because they all felt it—

He might not survive.

Mary broke down.

"Daniel… please… don't leave…"

Her voice trembled.

Her hands shook.

"I… I can't lose you…"

Tears fell uncontrollably.

"I love you… Daniel… I really do…"

Silence.

Everyone was shocked.

But no one interrupted.

Because this moment—

Was real.

Between Life and Death

For a second…

Nothing happened.

Then—

A faint breath.

"...Mary…"

Her eyes widened.

"Daniel?!"

He was alive.

Barely.

But alive.

Aftermath

They rushed him to the nearest hospital.

Time felt slow.

Pain. Fear. Uncertainty.

But finally—

He survived.

When Daniel opened his eyes again…

Everyone was there.

And the first thing he saw—

Was Mary.

Crying.

Smiling.

Holding his hand.

And for the first time—

He understood everything.

Hey guys, what do you think? Why throne control Daniel? What is the reason behind that give me a reason in comment...
