Chapter 26 - A Trip.... Or Something more

The next morning was filled with excitement.

Everyone was busy packing their bags.

Clothes, essentials… and hidden secrets.

This trip was supposed to be peaceful.

No missions.

No danger.

No need for weapons.

At least… that's what everyone thought.

But Daniel and David—

They still packed their weapons.

Quietly.

Carefully.

Without telling anyone.

Noah did the same.

The three of them exchanged normal looks, acting as if nothing was different.

But deep inside—

They all felt it.

Something… wasn't completely right.

The Journey Begins

Soon, everyone gathered outside.

Bags ready.

Energy high.

"Finally!" Noah shouted. "A trip!"

Mary smiled, adjusting her scarf.

Lucy, Lily, and Zoya were already talking excitedly.

Felix stood calmly, observing everything.

And David—

David was quiet.

Watching.

Thinking.

Ever since he got his powers… something had changed.

He wasn't just living moments anymore.

He was observing them.

They got into the car.

Laughter filled the air instantly.

Music played.

Noah started singing loudly—terribly.

"BRO STOP!" Daniel shouted.

"I sound amazing!" Noah replied proudly.

Everyone laughed.

For a moment—

Everything felt normal.

They reached the airport.

After security checks and boarding—

They finally sat inside the plane.

"This feels unreal," Lily said.

Mary looked out the window.

Clouds surrounded them.

Daniel glanced at her quietly.

David noticed.

Of course, he noticed.

When the flight landed—

A cold breeze hit their faces the moment they stepped outside.

"WOAH!" Noah shivered. "THIS IS FREEZING!"

Mary smiled softly.

"I love this weather…"

Fog covered everything.

Tall pine trees stood still like silent guards.

Mountains stretched endlessly.

It looked beautiful.

Peaceful.

Almost too perfect.

Their hotel was a large wooden structure.

Warm lights glowing from inside.

A perfect contrast to the cold outside.

"Looks expensive," Noah whispered.

"Because it is," Felix replied calmly.

Inside—

The place was cozy.

Wooden walls.

Fireplace burning.

Soft lighting.

It felt like home.

Evening Picnic

After settling in, they decided to go outside.

A small open area near the hotel—

They lit a fire.

And then—

The fun began.

Music.

Laughter.

Dancing.

Noah tried dancing and failed.

Everyone laughed.

Mary smiled more than usual.

Daniel couldn't stop looking at her.

David noticed that too.

And just smirked slightly.

Later that night—

They went to their rooms.

Boys in one room.

Girls in another.

And just as expected—

Chaos started immediately.

"I want this bed!" Noah shouted.

"No, I came first!" Daniel argued.

Felix stood silently in a corner.

Watching.

David walked in calmly.

Then suddenly said—

"I'm taking this bed."

Daniel frowned.

"Why?"

David smirked slightly.

"Because I want it."

Noah crossed his arms.

"Not happening."

David looked at them both.

Then said quietly—

"Give me the bed…"

"Or I might reveal your secrets."

Silence.

Daniel froze.

Noah panicked.

"NO—DON'T!"

Daniel looked confused.

"…What secrets?"

David leaned back casually.

"I can tell."

Daniel's eyes narrowed.

"…How?"

David smiled.

"I just can."

Noah quickly interrupted.

"He's joking! Relax!"

Daniel looked between them.

Suspicious.

"What are you guys hiding from me?"

Before things could go further—

A strict voice came from the door.

"Why are you all still awake?"

Mr. Stone.

Everyone froze.

"Do you want to go back?" he said coldly.

"No, sir!" they replied instantly.

"Then sleep."

He glanced at Felix.

"And you… instead of standing there, control them."

Then he added,

"Look at the girls. They're already sleeping."

"Learn something."

And he left.

Silence.

Then—

Noah slowly turned to David.

"…You're telling me tomorrow."

David smiled.

"Nope."

And went to sleep.

Daniel lay down—

But his mind was full of questions.

A Perfect Day

The next morning—

Was pure joy.

Snow everywhere.

"SNOW FIGHT!" Noah shouted.

And just like that—

It started.

Girls vs Boys.

And the boys were losing badly.

"HOW ARE THEY THIS GOOD?!" Daniel shouted.

Mary threw another snowball—

Perfect aim.

Direct hit.

David laughed.

Ice Skating Moment

Later, they went ice skating.

Lucy tried—

And slipped.

"AHH—!"

Before she could fall—

Felix caught her.

Everyone went silent.

Lucy looked at him.

"…Thanks."

Felix nodded.

Mary, Lily, and Zoya looked at each other—

And smiled.

Market Fun

They went to the local market.

Small shops.

Warm lights.

Colorful clothes.

Mary picked up a jacket.

Daniel looked at it.

"…That would look good on you."

Mary smiled.

"You think?"

She handed it to him.

"Then hold it."

Daniel froze.

The boys behind him started laughing.

"OOOHHH!"

Mary blushed—

And quickly walked away.

The girls followed her.

"YOU LIKE HIM!" Lily teased.

"I don't!" Mary said.

"Then why are you blushing?" Zoya asked.

Mary ran toward the washroom.

The Shift Begins

The next day—

They went for a forest walk.

At first—

Everything looked normal.

Snow-covered paths.

Tall trees.

Cold air.

Then—

Something felt… off.

No birds.

No wind.

No sound.

Just silence.

David stopped walking.

"…Wait."

Everyone turned.

"What happened?" Daniel asked.

David looked around.

"…Do you hear anything?"

They listened.

Nothing.

Noah frowned.

"…That's weird."

The cold suddenly increased.

Mary hugged herself.

"It just got colder…"

David's expression darkened.

"…This isn't normal."

Something is Watching

They continued walking—

But now, slowly.

Carefully.

Then—

A sudden movement in the trees.

"Did you see that?" Lily asked.

"No…" Lucy replied nervously.

David looked in that direction.

His eyes narrowed.

He felt it.

That same presence.

The same one from before.

Return to Hotel

They quickly returned to the hotel.

Trying to stay calm.

Inside—

Everything was normal again.

Warm.

Safe.

Food ready.

Laughter returned.

But not completely.

David stayed quiet.

Looking outside the window.

The fog was thick.

Very thick.

Then—

For a second—

He saw something.

A figure.

Standing far away in the snow.

Watching.

David's eyes widened.

"…Who's there?"

He blinked.

It was gone.

End

That night—

Everyone slept peacefully.

Except David.

Because now he knew—

This trip…

Was not just a trip.

Something was here.

And it was watching them.
