Looking around he found that Seraphiel was already walking towards him with long gentle strides and a happy smile on her face.
"Well look at the top scorer, you seem to have not even broken a sweat."
She said teasingly while grabbing onto his arm.
He smiled and sighed, this woman really was inexplicable.
He felt a sudden ease with her at all times that was something he could not understand, but her words either teasing or serious always had an effect on him.
After two hours of hunting, her teasing just came and washed away the fatigue.
"Well, not like you did any worse, you broke mom's record by 86 points, wait till she finds out, I bet she'll be happy."
"Speaking of which, when we tell mom about us, I wonder how she'll react?"
He mumbled to himself but Seraphiel heard every bit.
Oh if you only knew your mother had sold you to me a while ago, you wouldn't be thinking that jeje.
"Yes, yes, we both did great, I'm just happy we'll be in class together."
For a few minutes, everyone below the two hundred and fiftieth rank started leaving the venue knowing they had not passed the test.
Suddenly a beautiful woman with green hair and blue eyes in white and gold garments representing the academy walked onto a stage.
"Students! Congratulations to the top two hundred and fifty students that passed this test! My name is Luna Crix, I am the principal in this institution and for the next five years I'll be making sure you don't slack off."
"The classes will be divided into S, A, B,C,D, E. Where the S rank class will only have the top twenty five elites ranked in the leaderboard of the exam, and the rest of the classes will have the subsequent 45 each going from the 26th and below in the same order until the last class."
"It is important to note, that after today, the leaderboard will be cleared, and everyone will be judged both academically and physically, where you will have to complete both missions and written tests to gather points and maintain your position, if you do not, then you can loose your spot to someone from a lower class as long as they score higher than you."
"What does this mean? It means although your ranks have been set for the next six months, none of your positions are ever truly safe are they?"
"You cannot fight other students outside of sanctioned duels."
"No killing or crippling allowed, but it is understandable if a student is sent to the infirmary after a duel, just don't over due it. Bear in mind, duels are recorded with mana recordings, therefore we will know if you intentionally tried to cripple someone and that will earn you an expulsion, it doesn't matter if your the son of the king or a farmer."
"Your starting academy credit balance will be your total points earned in this exam, with Calux Voidbane being the top ranked with 401 credits, the second and third place will get an extra 100 credits, while the top ranked will get an extra 300"
"There are no monthly allowances, use the points wisely."
"Best of luck students, you may head to the academy reception to get your uniforms, and let us know if you'll be using the lodgings from the academy or living on the outside. Also, each student has three classes assigned which are mana theory, hand to hand combat, and beast theory. For additional courses you will need to pay for them with academy credits earned with the missions which also contribute to your ranking, you can see where this is going right?"
With that, she turned around after giving a glance towards Calux and Seraphiel and left.
"Well that was a nice speech..."
Calux sighed jokingly.
Seraphiel just chuckled, grabbed his hand and pulled him towards reception.
"Let's go pick up our uniforms and class information, then I want to go eat at the Lucky Star restaurant we went yesterday!"
"Wow, in less than twenty four hours I got myself a gold digger huh.."
That earned him a glare and a light pinch on the hand she was grabbing.
"Humph! I didn't say you needed to treat!"
..
Arriving at the reception, they picked up their class schedule and uniforms and were surprised by how they actually were one size fit all, since they adjusted to whomever wore the uniform and they received three of them.
Each uniform was made to withstand a C rank beast attack, meaning they won't break or destroy easily, and if you destroy a uniform then you need to buy it with academy credits.
"Schedule looks simple enough, we have our home room being mana theory, then we move to beast theory and finally we move to hand to hand combat."
"We start at 9:00 am, and then finish at 2:00 pm which allows us ample time to grab a mission if we want to in the afternoon, I like it."
Seraphiel nodded in agreement, although she was thinking of adding the alchemy course later on, but for now she would see how it went with these three courses.
Calux on the other hand, didn't feel like adding any more courses for now, although weapon's training intrigued him, he was a master swordsman thanks to his talent, and each time he ranked up he would gain even more insights.
It was not an exaggeration to say that in the Brax Continent there was no better swordsman that Calux at this moment, and he was only a C rank, as he ranked up there would be no equal in swordsmanship.
But knowing other weapons is like knowing your enemy, if you know their weakness you can beat them easily, plus he could steal their weapon skills thanks to his talent, but he'll leave that for later after getting used to his three courses first.
Turning around to leave hand in hand they were met with curious glances of the nobles and commoners a like.
Calux and Seraphiel had broken the original record by quite a big margin, and they had incredible presence, on top of that they were a couple.
Could the heavens be more unfair?
This thought was shared by both men and women who looked at Calux and Seraphiel.
The people in question however walked without a care in the world, talking with each other on route to the restaurant that Seraphiel wanted to visit.
