She stopped.
Eyes red, nose running, dignity absolutely nowhere to be found.
"We're not here to catch you out," Roshan said.
"I wasn't honest with you."
"You were scared," Nyx said from right behind her, close enough that she hadn't even heard him move. "That's not the same thing."

It came through so open and unguarded that it stopped her cold.
No anger in it. No smugness. Just genuine disbelief that she'd spent all this time convinced they'd turn on her the moment they knew the truth.
