Loreen's POV
Loreen looked at his father. He could hear his own breathing in the quiet of the room.
"The entire Locke family was not killed," his father said.
Loreen stared at him. "What are you saying," he said. "I was there that day, father. I remember it. The announcement was made. The entire Locke family was confirmed dead."
His father sighed. "You were still a child, Loreen," he said.
"You probably did not understand the full weight of what was happening around you. And I am certain you were not allowed anywhere near the bodies. You were kept away from all of that." He added.
Loreen opened his mouth. Then closed it. His father was not wrong. He had been young.
He remembered the day in fragments, the heavy mood in the palace, the guards moving quickly, the adults speaking in low voices that stopped whenever he walked into a room.
He had not seen anything directly. He had only been told.
