Loreen's POV
Loreen looked at his father. He did not speak immediately. He let the words sit there and looked at them from where he was and tried to work out what he was supposed to do with them.
"Do you know what you are saying, father," he asked. His voice came out quieter than he intended.
His father sighed. He did not answer immediately. He looked at his hands for a moment and then looked back up at Loreen with the gaze of a man who had been sitting with something difficult for a long time and had finally decided to put it on the table.
"I do, son," he said. "I want you to know that I did not arrive at this lightly. I have been turning it over for days, looking for a reason to dismiss it, looking for the part that does not fit."
His father sighed. "But I keep coming back to the same answer. Every time. Without fail." He held Loreen's gaze. "He might actually be the young lord of the Locke family."
