117| Just one core
Doctor Stanley looked through his glasses to face Neo. He paused for a second, his expression became slightly distorted. As though he was surprised that Neo would even ask him that.
But Neo still continued to stare at him in anticipation, waiting for a detailed answer with the injection still inside him.
Doctor Stanley sighed before he began to speak.
"Core, not cores."
"Huh?" Neo scrunched his face up.
"It was just one core. A newly created device was planted next to an active core in a dungeon. It drilled out a millimeter of the core and retrieved it back to Mars." Doctor Stanley said.
"It was that single tiny piece that formed the foundation of the five cores used in the second section of the Elimination Examination after being subjected to a level of refinement and purification." He explained and by the time he was done, Neo's mouth was left open.
