The rays of early summer sun felt on the two sorcerers back. How many steps have they walked over, and how many there are still.
Just at the outskirts of the city, on a hill was this shrine. The path to that shrine had now covered up in vegetation. The beginning steps are covered by dense bushes, sealing the entrance. Few do even know that the steps lead to a shrine, most think it is just a hill trek. The upper steps are all covered with dry leaves and beneath them lizards and bugs crawl under.
"Why are we visiting this shrine? Is there someone you want to add to the group?" Sanso asked who was lagging behind Megumi.
"Huh! Didn't I tell you? Oh I didn't. There is a sorcerer living in this shrine. We need her technique." He said.
"It is taking so long, do you think they have put a barrier. The steps are never ending" Sanso complained.
"Not that I feel any curse energy" Megumi replied.
As they were getting closer to the shrine, Sanso noticed that the steps were now cleared of leaves. At last they were inside the temple grounds. The shrine was well maintained. Many rock statues stood here and there in the temple. They were brilliantly crafted but two statues look odd. Both of them were just piles of large bolder but to mimic a human shape.
"For a shrine with no visitors, it is quite well maintained" Sanso commented.
They walked along the pavement and headed for the temple. But on the ground infront they saw the shadow of something big behind them.
They hurled to their side and a tremendous punch landed on the dirt. When they stood up and looked back, they saw their assailants.
The two oddly shaped boulders were moving. The boulders stuck together giving a fat human like structure.
