[ There are many ways to look beyond the flesh and deep into the body. Sorcerers of all kinds use techniques that suit them best to peek into the soul. For Megumi, this ability is achieved by fulfilling two conditions -
1. He must possess a soul slashing katana.
2. He must lower his curse energy to non existent level.]
"Hey Sanso don't you think that they eerily behave like humans" Megumi asked him. Sanso was dumbfounded.
'I had a slight hunch about it. Whenever I touch the boulder it doesn't emanate any curse energy, so it doesn't have any curse core inside. And why would it even go as far as to save the other statue. I know it now, human souls are trapped inside it. Or to be more precise souls are imbued upon them. Even my katana won't be able to go deep into the rock. Well I must use something else.' Megumi thought.
From his shadow he pulled another curse tool. This time it was the Mold breaker.
[The Mold breaker is a medium size rounded sphere with a gripping handle. All over its surface are metallic bumps. The tool is most efficient at breaking barriers but can also be used to break physical objects.]
"Sanso hold that one for me, I will deal with this one" he said and ran for the statue. The other one followed Megumi but his leg slipped and it found itself trapped inside a pool of blood. This was Sanso's Blood puddle.
Just when Megumi was close to the statue, it lifted its arms to smash him. But Megumi landed a punch with the tool, sending it flying. He smiled, seeing that his tool was effective.
He unleashed a barrage of such punches. The rock was cracking a bit. For the other statue it was helplessly getting sucked into the pool, the liquid has now turned into a gel.
[Blood puddle, another of Sanso technique. It is similar to Megumi shadow trap. However it doesn't weigh on the user. The puddle is purely made of blood. The blood thickness with each passing minute until it has turned as hard as concrete. If a person is engulfed before it harden, he/she will die]
The statue stood up and ran for Megumi aiming to crush him with his stretched arms. But Megumi stood aiming at the crack spot and to end the fight at once. While the other statue frantically tried to wriggle out.
Just as when both of them were front to front. A rock flew and hid Megumi at his back. He was thrown off balance. The rock was one belonging to the arm of the other statue who had thrown at him in desperation.
"Look out Megumi sama!" Sanso shouted.
Sanso looked with fear as the statue was about to smash Megumi. The Mold breaker was not close by. Megumi was about to be done for.
Suddenly a bull came from the side and pushed the statue from the spot. Luckily Megumi at the neck of time summoned Piercing ox. He stood up and healed himself with Reverse curse technique derived from Round deer.
Once again he extended his hand into the shadow and pulled out the Chain of a thousand miles by one end, while he hid the other end in his shadow.
Tying it to the club he was now ready to fight once more. He threw the club. It hid the statue and swinging it to the side he dragged the statue all across the ground. At close quarters he was just about to hit it with a powerful punch but a shout stopped him midway.
"Stop it. Do you even know how hard it is to get your hands on pure souls?" a girl in a miko dress was in front of the shrine.
