Hearing Snigdha's arrogant words, Prabhasa could no longer stay silent. She said in annoyance, "Sister, will you please keep quiet? One has to listen to so many useless things from your mouth all day long! None of this feels pleasant at all. Why are you so proud of these clothes and jewelry, tell me?"
Hearing such a protest from Prabhasa, Snigdha flared up in anger. Widening her eyes, she yelled, "Big talk to my face does not suit you at all, Prabhasa! If you talk too much, I will push you out of this royal palace by the neck!"
Prafulla immediately rose from his seat and said in a stern voice, "Look, Snigdha! A perfectly good conversation was happening here, but in the middle of it, you dragged that argument back in! Why are you threatening to throw her out by the neck?"
Getting even more furious, Snigdha pointed a finger at Prafulla and said, "Why? Do you not see any fault in her? She was picking a quarrel all this time, sticking her nose right into my business to fight—do you not see that? Is it a crime only when I say a single word? Truly, who knows when this cataract of affection for Prabhasa will ever be lifted from your eyes!"
Exceedingly annoyed, Prafulla said in a grave tone, "Shut up, Snigdha! Or else you can leave right this moment. You don't need to listen to anything more."
Intervening to stop the argument between her brother and sister, Prabhasa said, "Brother, let it be! Let her do whatever she wants, now read aloud what is written in that letter."
Prafulla then calmed down and began reading the contents of the letter out loud for everyone:
'To the most revered Junagarh Royal Family,
In our Kingdom of Rupnagar, a new Prime Minister has been coronated with grand splendor. However, I am not revealing the name of that minister in this letter just yet. As the King of Rupnagar Kingdom, I have intentionally kept this name secret. At the royal celebration of grand reunion to be held at our palace this coming Sunday, the name of our new minister will be officially announced in grand fashion before everyone's presence. Although all the subjects of my kingdom have already come to know his name, for a special reason, the name is being kept as a surprise for the invited royal families coming from afar. I hope you will accept this invitation and grace the Rupnagar Royal Palace with your presence this coming Sunday.
Sincerely,
The King of Rupnagar Kingdom.'
As soon as he finished reading the letter, Prafulla explained the entire matter to everyone.
Hearing the subject of the letter, Snigdha twisted her lips and spoke again in her usual arrogant tone, "My goodness! Who could such a grand minister be that even his name is kept secret in the letter! Must be some high-ranking royal minister! Anyway, what do I care? I am going there only to show off my beauty and my pride!"
The moment the word 'Rup' (beauty/Rupanjan) was uttered by Snigdha, Prabhasa's heart ached with grief. Memories of Rupanjan surged within her mind. Letting out a deep sigh, she thought to herself, 'Rup... Rup was all the light of my life! My love, Rupanjan... when will I ever meet him again?'
Muttering these words in her mind, Prabhasa walked toward her room with a heavy heart. Everyone else also departed for their respective duties. Meanwhile, Prince Prafulla carefully folded and kept the royal invitation, for taking this letter with them would be essential when they all set off to attend that mysterious celebration in the Kingdom of Rupnagar this coming Sunday!
