Chapter 170 - Chapter 170: The Legacy of Rupnagar

After his coronation as Prime Minister in new attire, Rupanjan was overflowing with unbridled joy! Returning to his chamber, he kept looking at his face in the mirror time and again, and losing himself in happiness, he whispered to himself, "I still cannot believe that I have truly become the Prime Minister of this vast kingdom! But... well, what is the actual name of this kingdom? My goodness, I am sitting here as the minister of this realm, yet to this day I haven't even learned the name of this kingdom! All I know is that it is a kingdom neighboring Junagarh..."

The moment this thought entered his mind, Rupanjan wasted no time and went straight to the Emperor's private chamber. Folding his hands respectfully, he asked, "Excuse me, Your Majesty, a thought came to my mind so I came to ask you... could you tell me what the actual name of our kingdom is?"

The Emperor looked up, a little surprised. Smiling, he asked, "Why, Rupanjan? Did you not see the invitation letter sent to Junagarh?"

Nodding with a shy face, Rupanjan replied, "No, Your Majesty, I haven't read that royal letter with my own eyes."

The Emperor then handed over a letter stamped with the royal seal to Rupanjan. Taking the letter in his hand, Rupanjan read it with eager interest. There, clearly written in exquisite royal script, was—'The Kingdom of Rupnagar'.

Seeing the name of the kingdom in the letter, Rupanjan's face brightened with joy. He said, "Wow, Your Majesty! 'The Kingdom of Rupnagar'! Truly, what a magnificent and beautiful name for this realm! I have been staying here for so long, yet I did not know such a wonderful name!"

Hearing Rupanjan's innocent words, the Emperor gave a gentle smile and asked, "Do you still not understand the true secret behind this, Rupanjan?"

Surprised, Rupanjan said, "No, Your Majesty! I cannot grasp any secret at all."

Placing a hand on Rupanjan's shoulder with deep affection, the Emperor said, "Very well, I will not keep you in suspense or leave you in a maze any longer. Let me tell you the real reason. Listen, Rupanjan, until yesterday, this kingdom had no official name! People from all the surrounding realms merely knew our kingdom as 'the realm beside Junagarh.' But from this day forth, the permanent name of this realm shall be 'The Kingdom of Rupnagar'! And do you know after whom this name has been given? Rupanjan, what are the first two letters of your name? 'Rup'! Using that word 'Rup' from your name, I have named all this empire and the homeland of my subjects 'Rupnagar'! How do you like it? From today, the entire world will know this kingdom by a single name derived from yours!"

Upon hearing this unimaginable and sublime truth from the Emperor's mouth, Rupanjan's chest swelled with pride. Tears of deep gratitude streamed down his eyes. Unable to hold himself back, he stepped forward and embraced the Emperor tightly with both arms. In a voice choked with emotion, Rupanjan said, "Your Majesty... you are doing so much for me? Instead of naming the realm after yourself, you named it after a mere commoner like me! Why are you so good, Your Majesty? You are truly so grand!"

Patting Rupanjan's back with immense affection, the Emperor laughed and said, "There, there, no need for so many tears! Go now, have your royal meal and rest well. Tomorrow is the most auspicious day—Sunday! So get a peaceful sleep tonight, and dress up beautifully for tomorrow. Thousands of people from various places around will come tomorrow to see you at the royal court! And without any fear, you will enjoy yourself to the fullest, have fun, and watch the songs and dances. Go, Rupanjan, head to your chamber now."

Bowing to the Emperor, Rupanjan went to his room with a mind full of peace and happiness.

Shortly after Rupanjan left, the elderly palace guard came and stood before the Emperor. Bowing, he reported, "Your Majesty, I have returned after delivering your invitation letter to the kingdom of Junagarh. However, there is one piece of news, Your Majesty—King Aditya and Queen Arohi were not present at the Junagarh palace. Therefore, I handed the royal letter into the hands of their eldest son, Prince Prafulla."

Upon hearing this, the Emperor suddenly remembered. Holding his forehead, he remarked, "Oh, that's right! They had gone outside the kingdom for urgent trade matters! It completely slipped my mind. I thought perhaps they had already returned to the kingdom, which is why I sent the letter addressed to them. Anyway, even if they cannot return from trade in time, it causes no harm. The fact that you invited their children—Prince Prafulla, Princess Snigdha, and Prabhasa—is a great job done!"
