Chapter 168 - Chapter 168: The Royal Decree and Princess Snigdha's Pride

Taking the letter from the guards, Prince Prafulla looked at them with somber eyes and asked, "Where are you coming from? Where is your royal palace located?"

Bowing respectfully, the guards replied, "His Majesty has described everything beautifully inside this royal letter, my Prince. We crave your permission to take our leave now, as a mountain of preparations awaits us back at our palace. We must carefully calculate how many thousands of guests will arrive and organize grand markets for the royal feast on coming Sunday. Much work remains to be done, so with your permission, Prince, we shall depart. Kindly read the letter. Thank you."

Nodding calmly, Prafulla said, "Very well, you may leave. Once I read the letter, I will understand the purpose of your palace and which kingdom you hail from."

After the guards departed from the royal palace, Prafulla gently broke the royal seal and unrolled the parchment. Gleaming right at the top of the letter was the name—'The Kingdom of Rupnagar'. The moment he saw the name, Prafulla felt a wave of surprise and concern. He thought to himself, 'Where is this Kingdom of Rupnagar? I have never heard such a name before! This kingdom is completely unfamiliar to me.'

Prafulla paused for a moment. Many subjects were still gathered in the royal court. Declaring an immediate adjournment of the court, Prafulla announced, "Today's state affairs end here. You all may leave now."

Once the assembly dispersed, Prafulla summoned Snigdha and Prabhasa to the court. As the two stood before him, Prafulla looked at them and asked, "Do either of you have any idea about this Kingdom of Rupnagar? Do you know where this realm is located?"

Stepping forward, Prabhasa said softly, "Brother, without overthinking, why don't you check the letter? Everything might be written right there! Read it aloud for us to hear."

Prafulla replied, "Yes, I summoned you both so I could read it in your presence. And Snigdha, listen very carefully—do not play any of your mischievous tricks! Our parents are currently away outside the kingdom on urgent trade affairs, so as representatives of the royal family, we must attend this invitation. Make sure you don't create any trouble there!"

Pouting her lips with arrogance, Snigdha boasted, "When do I ever create trouble? I don't cause any trouble at all! Besides, I actually love attending royal invitations! No matter if I am a princess, I will dress up in grand royal attire and display all my splendour! I have so many beautiful and invaluable garments and jewelry—I must go and dazzle the people there with them! I am definitely going."
