Unlike the Lt. Surge from the world Ash belonged to, who was the protector of Vermilion City, the Lt. Surge of this alternate world was one of Team Rocket's three top executives. The same applied to Koga. The Poison-type Elite Four member from Ash's world was, just like Lt. Surge and Sabrina, a Team Rocket executive here.
Right now, Lt. Surge was discussing Sebastian's combat power with Koga, but Koga had fallen into an eerie silence.
"What's wrong, Koga? You look a bit strange."
Lt. Surge looked at Koga's silent state, finding it reminiscent of his own boss's earlier behavior, which left him puzzled. After a long silence, Koga finally spoke. "It's truly miraculous. Never mind... Surge, Sebastian can be trusted. You can rest assured on that."

As these memories streamed into his brain, Lt. Surge froze for a moment before saying, "This is..."
"Looks like you've seen those memories too?" Koga realized what had happened seeing Lt. Surge enter the same state he had just been in.
Lt. Surge responded in sheer disbelief, "Wait? So he's the godson of the Boss from the other world?! I knew it!"
"Yeah... And not only that, he's also my brother-in-law... So..."
Koga didn't finish his sentence. Instead, he bolted toward Ash's location with breakneck speed.
"Hey! Koga, what are you doing?"
"I have something extremely important to take care of!" was the only response Lt. Surge got.
"Brother-in-law! Brother-in-law!"
Seeing Koga running over with a flattering look on his face, Ash instantly knew what this guy wanted. Ash had been pestered by his own world's Koga for far too long; he was all too used to Koga's antics.
"Don't be like that! Look, since we're family over there, we shouldn't play favorites over here, right? Hmm? Brother-in-law?"
Hearing Koga say this made Ash shudder in disgust. Finally, unable to take it anymore, he tossed a small orb to him and said, "Just remember to cooperate properly later. Consider this a thank-you gift."
Seeing the orb Ash threw, Koga caught it excitedly. Gazing at the chilling, deep purple glow inside, he said joyfully, "Straight to the point! I love that about you, brother-in-law. Don't worry, whatever you need help with, just say the word!"
"Good. Then hand down an order later: if anyone sees this girl, let her pass immediately. I'll deal with her myself."
Ash pulled out a photo of Green and handed it to Koga. Seeing her picture, Koga paused for a moment, remembering that Giovanni had also previously ordered them not to attack this girl if they saw her.
"Understood. I'll go guard the floor with Articuno now. By the way, this Toxic Orb...?"
"Just feed it directly to the Poison-type Pokémon you want to use it on. Don't worry, this toxin will slowly alter and enhance them."
"Thank you so much!"
Committing Ash's words to memory, Koga left, knowing he owed Ash a massive favor this time. Not long after Koga departed, Lt. Surge came over as well.
"Brother! Brother! Can you spare some healing meds for me?"
Seeing Surge calling him "brother" with every breath, Ash figured out this guy had also been force-fed memories by that mysterious entity.
"Alright, alright, geez. Here you go. Help keep an eye out for this girl later and make sure she doesn't get hurt."
Handing a pack of Stardust Potion to Lt. Surge, Ash showed him the photo of Green. Surge looked at the photo, paused for a second, and then smirked playfully. "So she's your babe, huh? Alright, brother, I won't let my bastard underlings lay a finger on her."
"Yeah. Thanks."
"No, I should be thanking you. I'm heading out."
Once Lt. Surge left, Meowth asked from beside Ash, "Boss, why help them? I mean, sure, we have a good relationship with them in our world, but that's our world."
Ash smiled at Meowth's question and said, "Because there's no need to make enemies. Only a fool makes enemies for no reason. Meowth, you have to remember we're here to rescue someone, not to pick random fights."
"But I feel like you just came here to pick a fight anyway..." Meowth muttered, feeling a bit speechless as he thought about the team composition Ash had brought.
Ash just smiled without refuting him. He scooped Meowth into his arms, scratching his head, and said, "It's not bad to let the old boys stretch their legs and fight a bit, right? And Pikachu, stop eating ketchup! We need to move out soon. I'm going to let Green know that her man can break through space and time to save her. Though right now, giving her a good spanking sounds like a better idea."
Pikachu, munching on his ketchup, simply shrugged at Ash's words.
"Pika Pika." (Whatever you say, I just want the ketchup!)
