BOOM!
With a violent explosion, the front doors of the Silph Co. building in Saffron City were blown wide open. A man wearing a mask slowly walked into the lobby.
"Excuse me. We're taking over this establishment."
Hearing the masked man's arrogant declaration, the Silph Co. security guards immediately threw their Poké Balls. "Go, Machamp! Take this guy out!"
"Go, Pidgeotto!"
"Get 'em, Electabuzz!"
Seeing their resistance, Ash chuckled. "Mightyena, Houndoom. Handle them."
"Woof!"
Two figures blurred past Ash, charging straight at the newly released Pokémon. Houndoom locked eyes with the Machamp, gathered fire in its maw, and unleashed a massive torrent of flames. The Machamp barely had a second to react before it was completely swallowed by the terrifying inferno.
Meanwhile, the Pidgeotto hadn't even managed to take flight before Mightyena leaped up and clamped its jaws down hard with a Crunch attack.
"Electabuzz, help Pidgeotto!"
"Elec!"
Following its trainer's command, Electabuzz fired a Thunderbolt at Mightyena. However, seeing the electricity coming, Mightyena simply whipped its head, throwing the Pidgeotto directly into the path of the attack.
"Pidgeo!!!" With a tragic screech, having suffered a Crunch and then a direct hit from its ally's Thunderbolt, Pidgeotto lost consciousness instantly. Exploiting the opening created by the attack, Mightyena closed the distance in a flash, tackling Electabuzz and tearing into it with its fangs.
"Electabuzz, use—" Seeing the guards trying to issue more commands, Ash coldly ordered Houndoom, "Flamethrower. Shut them up."
"ROAR!" A blast of fire erupted from Houndoom's mouth, engulfing the security guards. With the security team utterly decimated, the Silph Co. employees dissolved into total panic.
"Ahhhhh!!!"
"Run!!!"
"Call the police!"
Watching the chaotic lobby, Ash shrugged. He walked over to Mightyena and patted its head. "Alright, that's enough. Electabuzz is out cold, you don't need to keep biting it."
"Awoo~ Roar!" At Ash's command, Mightyena released its grip. The unconscious Electabuzz lay motionless on the floor.
Having cleared the first floor's security, Ash turned to the Team Rocket grunts standing behind him. "Alright. Commence the operation. Eliminate all resistance before the Boss arrives. I'm going to check outside."
Witnessing Ash's sheer brutality, the Team Rocket grunts hurriedly saluted. "Yes, sir!"
While the grunts spread out to neutralize the remaining security forces, Ash took Houndoom and Mightyena outside. Outside the Silph Co. building, Saffron City's defense forces were frantically attacking three massive Pokémon, but it was completely useless. Every assault ended in utter failure.
The three Pokémon were Ash's Aggron, Nidoking, and Nidoqueen.
"Who the hell are you?! Why are you attacking Silph Co.?!" Seeing Ash emerge, a defense captain yelled through a megaphone while deploying another wave of Pokémon.
From beneath his mask, Ash smirked. "Nidoking, Nidoqueen. Sword of Earth."
"ROAR!"
At Ash's command, Nidoking and Nidoqueen roared in unison. The two massive Pokémon slammed their fists into the ground, injecting a unique, devastating surge of energy into the earth.
The ground began to tremble violently. Before the defense forces could even comprehend what was happening, massive swords made of solid rock erupted from the ground. Every time a rock sword shot upward, it sent a wave of defending Pokémon flying into the air. When the final earthen blade pierced the surface and wiped out the last batch of Pokémon, the entire area was firmly under Team Rocket's control.
Team Rocket grunts quickly moved in to tie up the defeated defenders. Ash walked over to them and said coldly, "Next time, remember not to waste your breath talking to the enemy! Take them away! As of right now, Saffron City is completely under Team Rocket's jurisdiction!"
"Yes, sir!"
Ash then walked over to Nidoking, Nidoqueen, and Aggron. "Good work. Things will be a lot easier from here on out. Now we just have to wait for a certain troublesome brat to walk right into our trap. But before that..."
Ash slowly pulled out the badge Sabrina had given him earlier. "A badge brimming with mystical power... It looks like things have gotten a lot more interesting. I wonder what choices the people seeking this badge will make? Hahahaha!"
Accompanied by a terrifying, villainous laugh, Ash pocketed the Marsh Badge.
Not far away, Meowth and the others were silently recording Ash's entire performance. "Hmm, the Boss plays a pretty good bad guy, doesn't he? I just wonder if Lara is gonna give him a beatdown with a Headbutt when we get back."
"Pika pika." (Why are we even recording this anyway?)
"To gather intel, of course! The Boss is using himself as bait to gauge the combat power of this world. It's better to be prepared, meow." Meowth looked back at the Silph Co. building.
"Besides, in this world, even Legendary Pokémon can be captured. We don't know the exact combat power here, but just knowing that fact is enough to keep the Boss on his toes. Pikachu, protecting the Boss is up to you and Zigzagoon. You two are our surprise attackers. Make sure you keep him safe!"
"Pika!" (No problem!)
