In another world, inside the Team Rocket Headquarters, Giovanni was in the middle of discussing the assault on Silph Co. with his executives.
"For this operation, we will completely lock down Saffron City. We must find the Master Ball."
"Yes, sir!"
Hearing his subordinates' responses, Giovanni smirked. "This time, Sabrina, Lt. Surge, and Koga—you three will be responsible for guarding this base. You will utilize the three Legendary Birds."
"Yes, sir!"
Just as Giovanni was about to continue, a voice interrupted. "I wonder... could I tag along for this operation?"
The sudden voice startled everyone, including Giovanni. Following a flash of white light, a man wearing a mask and a formal suit slowly walked out, accompanied by a Meowth, a Pikachu, and a Blissey. The masked man was also casually holding a Zigzagoon in his arms.
"Who are you?" Giovanni was surprised by the masked man's sudden intrusion. But out of sheer confidence in his own power, he didn't panic.
The masked man gave an elegant nod. "I am Sebastian. I came here to handle some minor business. I was wondering if you might allow me to join this operation?"
"What makes you think I would—" Giovanni started to refuse, but abruptly stopped, falling into a bizarre, stunned silence.
"...I see... How is that possible...? ...Fascinating... Hahahaha! Truly fascinating! You, come with me!"
After the bizarre silence, Giovanni suddenly burst into laughter, looked at "Sebastian," and said something that shocked everyone in the room. Giovanni was notoriously cautious and paranoid—why would he want to be alone with some unknown intruder?
However, trusting their Boss's immense strength, the executives said nothing. But just then, Sabrina suddenly stood up. "I'm coming with you."
Hearing Sabrina, Giovanni nodded. "It seems you saw it too. Then come along."
"Understood."
Once "Sebastian," Giovanni, and Sabrina entered a secret room, Giovanni looked at Ash. "Alright. There are no outsiders here. Ash, take off the mask."
"Man. I didn't expect that voice to be telling the truth... Godfather, you can actually share memories with your counterpart?" Since Giovanni had called out his real name, Ash dropped the act, removed his mask, and looked at Sabrina. "Does that mean you're...?"
"It's me, Ash. Your actual, legitimately engaged fiancée. I just got swapped over to this side," Sabrina said, holding up her hand. On her finger sat the engagement ring Ash had given her.
"Huh? It's that magical?"
"Boss, it looks like that voice's power is no joke," Meowth said, looking worriedly at Sabrina and Giovanni who had just acquired memories from another world. That level of power was terrifying.
Ash patted Meowth's head. "Nothing to worry about. Power on that scale is beyond our ability to resist anyway. Since that's the case, we just focus on doing our own thing. But before that..."
Ash pulled a massive pile of bottles and jars out of his bag. "Godfather, since you have the memories now, let me treat your Pokémon's hidden injuries and stabilize their levels. It'll make executing your plans a lot easier."
"Oh? How thoughtful of you." Watching Ash pull out the medicines he remembered from the other world—even Rare Candies—Giovanni was stunned for a moment, but then a genuine smile graced his lips. He finally understood completely why his other self had taken Ash in as a godson. How long had it been since he had felt this kind of familial warmth?
"Sabrina, since you were swapped over, do you have your Pokémon with you?"
"Don't worry, they came with me. And three others came along to help, too."
"Hehehehe! Muahahaha!"
With three eerie laughs, Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar emerged from the shadows.
Seeing them, Ash smiled brightly. "You guys came to help? That's perfect. I actually have a very grueling task for the three of you. Oh, right, introductions. This is my Godfather, Giovanni."
"Hello." Giovanni nodded at them, sensing that these three Ghost-type Pokémon were terrifyingly powerful. Absolutely terrifying.
"Since you're here to help, Ash, it seems our plans need a slight adjustment. What exactly is your goal in coming to this world?"
"To find someone. A girl who causes me nothing but headaches."
"I see. But why would you help me? I know you have a great relationship with me in your world, but here..." Giovanni's implication was clear. He was curious why Ash would aid this version of him.
"Because I like you, is that okay?" Giovanni was left speechless by the answer. He sighed helplessly. "Honestly, what kind of answer is that? Forget it... it works for me. It looks like we're drafting a new plan. Ash, how much combat power did you bring?"
Ash smirked. "Want a demonstration?"
