I am a Meowth, a completely ordinary Pokémon...
I was abandoned by humans right after I was born. But I guess it makes sense; what normal family would want to raise a Meowth?
After being abandoned, I had to rely on myself to survive. But how could a Meowth who had never been taught any survival skills possibly survive on its own? My life was incredibly difficult. Until one day, I heard that Hollywood had good food, and my fate changed.
When I first arrived in Hollywood, I was still caught and beaten by people, until I joined a local gang of Persian and Meowth. Finally, I was able to eat my fill, and they taught me a lot of things. And under those circumstances, I met the Meowth who changed my entire life: Meowzie.
The first time I saw Meowzie, I fell in love with her. But unlike a wild Meowth like me, Meowzie had an owner, and a wealthy one at that. But I also heard Meowzie say that she would prefer if I were more like a human.
But that was just my own wishful thinking. I learned to walk upright for Meowzie, but she mocked me, saying I was just mimicking walking and wasn't like a real human. Then I learned to speak, but she mocked me again. She said a Meowth that could speak human language was disgusting... My heart was shattered.
That day, I had planned to steal one last time, leave Hollywood, and become a bad guy. But running on two legs, how could I possibly run fast? I was caught again, and then I was beaten. And as I was being beaten, the person who truly changed my life arrived.
"Mister, I'll pay for the fish he took."
I was saved. When he realized I could talk, he was stunned for a moment, but then he immediately asked if I wanted to become his Pokémon. To the me of that time, it was an absolute miracle.
After that, I became the Boss's Pokémon. I also became the bridge of communication between the Boss and his Pokémon. And I have never forgotten what the Boss said to me.
"Meowth, don't you realize how precious your ability to speak is? With this ability, you are a hero!"
"Huh? I can be a hero? That's impossible, Boss. I'm just a Meowth..."
"Don't sell yourself short. Just as humans need to communicate with humans, Pokémon need to communicate with Pokémon, and communication between humans and Pokémon is just as necessary. Meowth! You can become the bridge of communication between me and Pikachu and the others! You are the hero who can resolve conflicts between humans and Pokémon!"

Is that so? So my efforts to learn to speak weren't in vain. If it's me, I can definitely do it. The Boss believes in me this much... So I too... can be cherished by someone... This feeling... is really wonderful...
After that, I really did become the hero the Boss talked about, helping many professors communicate with Pokémon. By translating, I resolved disagreements between humans and Pokémon caused by a lack of communication. I even helped clear Absol's name.
I really became a hero, just like the Boss said. Perhaps some people might wonder if this makes me nothing more than a tool. If someone says that, I will absolutely scratch their face off! The Boss has never treated me like a tool. In his eyes, I am an equal, a partner, a friend! Even though in my eyes, the Boss is my Master.
Of course, this isn't me degrading myself. It's because I truly believe it. Because it was exactly because of the Boss that I was able to become a hero.
But compared to being a hero, the thing that will forever make me the proudest is only one thing...
And that is... becoming the Boss's Pokémon.
A hero? I am just a Meowth, a talking Meowth, a butler and Pokémon that belongs solely to the Boss.
