Listening to Ash and J's conversation, Absol didn't feel disgusted. As a Pokémon, it understood the law of the jungle. Moreover, it was clear someone had intended to harm Ash, so Ash struck back.
As if explaining to Absol, Ash helplessly said while scratching his Poochyena's belly, "This is the annoyance of having money. There are always people trying to kidnap me, to the point where I have to hire someone completely ruthless to be my bodyguard."
"Awooo." (The troubles of humans.)
"Yeah, meow. Such an annoying bunch of guys. Glad it's finally dealt with."
"Pika..." (And those so-called relatives of Ash...)
"Bark!" (Next time I'll just bite them on the butt!)
"Zigza!" (Aren't you worried they're dirty?)
"Happiny!" (Smelly dog! Get away, Papa Ash is mine!)
Seeing Ash's Pokémon getting along so well with him, Absol smiled and quietly lay down beside Ash.
With Meowth translating, Ash chatted with his Pokémon, threw a frisbee for Poochyena to fetch, and fed some freshly picked berries to Zigzagoon. Absol felt that this kind of life seemed pretty good too.
As time passed by peacefully, Ash's communicator rang.
"What is it?"
"Boss... a lot of the villagers don't believe us! Even Officer Jenny coming over didn't help. Do we need to use forceful measures?"
"Forget it. Since they don't believe it, it's out of our hands. Go back with Officer Jenny for now."
"Awooo."
Seeing Absol stand up, Ash knew exactly what it was going to do without Meowth needing to translate.
"Going to let them continue misunderstanding you? To be honest, if you show up now, they'll absolutely blame everything on you."
"Awooo." (Even so, at least I can warn them.)
With that, Absol left; saving lives was the priority. But what Absol didn't know at the time was what Meowth said to Ash after translating.
"Meow... What a fool..."
"Pika." (Truly foolish.)
"Indeed. But it's exactly because they are fools that I like them so much. Don't you guys think Absol acting like that is incredibly cool? Right, Professors?"
Saying this, Ash turned to his communicator. In the communicator, several professors were currently discussing the situation.
"Ha! I told you! Absols only appear because they foresee disasters. The old human perspective was completely wrong!"
"But it couldn't be helped. That's the consequence of rumors spreading as truth. People feared Absol back then, making them even more afraid to get close."

Seeing the professors still chatting away, Ash said, slightly exasperated, "Professors, what we really should be doing right now is clearing Absol's name!"

Reminded by Ash, the professors finally realized what to do. Ash sighed. "Professor Oak, there's no point telling me this. Whatever, I'm going to go check on Absol now..."
"Wait, wait! Ash, at least leave Meowth here to help us for a bit!"
"No way! My Meowth is on vacation time right now!"
With that, Ash picked up Meowth with one arm and walked off. Watching Ash leave—carrying Meowth in his left arm, Happiny in his right, Pichu standing on his shoulder, and Poochyena and Zigzagoon following beside him—Professor Oak was a bit speechless. "Uh... Ash's physical training is really paying off..."
"For now, let's discuss how to announce that Absol isn't the cause of disasters..."
"Right!"
While the professors Ash mentioned were discussing, things on Absol's end were exactly as Ash had predicted. The moment Absol appeared, the villagers immediately started shouting "Disaster Pokémon!" and prepared to run. However, some braver villagers grabbed weapons, ready to drive the 'Disaster Pokémon' away.
Comparing these villagers to Ash from earlier, Absol sighed helplessly.
Just then, a voice slowly drifted over.
"Agatha, did you know? I'm looking at a bunch of brain-dead idiots over here. Yes, the kind of brain-dead idiots who blindly accuse their savior of being the culprit that brought the disaster."
Hearing this voice, Absol froze. Because that voice was Ash's.
