The Skyveil Plains were unlike any terrain Qin Huaian had ever seen. Stretching endlessly beneath a purple-hued sky, the plains were covered in soft glowing grass, which shimmered like starlight under moonless daylight. Floating stones whispered songs. The wind didn't blow—it hummed lullabies.
> "This land doesn't obey time," said Yun Shilan, scanning the terrain.
> "That's because we've entered her domain," murmured Long Wanyu, eyes narrowing.
In the center of the plains floated a massive crystal flower—suspended in air, petals slowly rotating like the hands of a clock. Inside it, asleep but radiating spiritual energy, was a young girl.

🌸 The Girl Who Never Sleeps
The flower slowly opened as the team approached. The girl floated down gently, her feet never touching the ground. Her hair flowed upward, as though water obeyed her instead of gravity.
She looked no older than fifteen, dressed in robes of pale blue and gold.
> "I am Yue Lingxi," she whispered, not opening her eyes.
"Dreamwalker. Child of Memory. Key of the Eleventh Echo."
Qin Huaian stepped forward cautiously.
> "We're not here to hurt you. We came to—"
> "I've seen you," she interrupted softly. "In dreams... and in endings."
Her voice sent chills down everyone's spine.
> "I've seen you burn heaven. I've seen you kill your wives. I've seen the sky scream your name."
Her eyes opened—pupils shaped like mirrored moons.
> "Which version of you are you, Qin Huaian?"

Without warning, the grass beneath their feet folded into mist, and the team collapsed into unconsciousness—dragged into Lingxi's Dream Domain.
Inside it, they were scattered into different illusions.

He stood atop a throne of stars, wings of light and darkness spreading from his back. Cities burned below him. Heaven kneeled. Yinyin, Yueru, Xiaoxiao—all dead at his feet.
Mozhen's voice echoed:
> "You completed the cycle. You are Tianren now."
> "NO!" Huaian roared, refusing the vision.
He pushed against the dream, forcing flame through the illusion.

She saw herself left behind again—Huaian choosing Yueru, choosing battle, choosing destiny. Never her.
She whispered, "It doesn't matter," but her tears betrayed her.
Then a hand reached out—Huaian's—glowing with Void light.
> "I never forget my sword," he said.
She smiled—and broke free.

He relived his sealing, the fear, the betrayal. But this time, his clan knelt before him, and he stood alone. No enemies left. No purpose.
Then he saw Huaian.

Wanyu roared and shattered the dream prison.

Each of them awoke at the center of the plains, within Lingxi's mindscape, surrounding her spirit form.
> "You broke my dreams," she said. "You didn't become what I feared."
> "We became who we chose to be," Huaian answered. "Now choose to stand with us."
Lingxi smiled faintly, tears slipping down her cheek.
> "Then I'll dream of a better end… with you."
She walked toward Huaian—and placed a memory shard in his hand.
> "The Twelfth Key… hides in the land of the dead."
