Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Key That Should Not Be

Location: Spirit Realm — Between the Realms

The grey fog surrounding them thickened, pulsing with ancient silence.

Qin Haotian, now freed from his Oblivion Madness, sat beside Qin Huaian, trembling as his restored soul flickered between stability and collapse. His power had been forged through suffering—and it was unstable, burning with the Oblivion Fire that erased even memories of pain.

Yue Lingxi spoke softly, her voice rippling like falling petals.

> "There were only ever meant to be twelve Keys… That was the design. The balance."

But the Keeper of the Lost, half-crumbled and fading, whispered otherwise:

> "The Thirteenth was not made to seal Tianren…"

"It was made by Tianren…"

> "A fail-safe. A memory given life. A weapon disguised as a will."

---

🌀 Vision of the Boundless

Suddenly, the spirit of Tianren flared within Huaian. Time slowed. His surroundings fell away into a starless void, and before him stood a mirror of himself—identical in face, but crowned with fractured wings.

> "The last Key… is not a person. It is a choice," the mirror said.

"My will, my essence, split before I died. I sealed it in a divine soul… and hid it in the sky."

"You must decide… awaken me, or remain yourself."

Huaian's eyes narrowed.

> "Where is it?"

> "Heaven's Vault. The Hall of Eternal Light."

> "And what happens… if I find it?"

> "Then Heaven falls. Or you do."

---

🌠 Return to the Mortal Realm

The team returned to the surface through a soul tether conjured by Haotian. When they emerged from the ruined Withered Bell, a storm awaited them.

The sky had changed.

Massive celestial runes now flickered high above the clouds. Heaven knew they had all twelve Keys.

> "We don't have time," said Long Wanyu.

"Mozhen is still moving."

Yun Shilan drew her lotus blade.

> "And now we've lit the final beacon. The battle has begun."

---

🏛️ The Plan to Invade Heaven

The team gathered around a spirit-forged map Lingxi summoned. In the center hovered an impossible location: The Hall of Eternal Light—a temple that floats above Celestial Flame Spire, protected by the full might of the Heavenly Vanguard.

Only those with pure Divine Qi or Heaven's blessing could enter.

> "We need someone already inside," Xiaoxiao said.

A silence fell.

Then Qin Huaian looked up.

> "Song Yueru."

---

❤️ Back at the Song Clan

Meanwhile, Song Yueru stood at the edge of a floating battlefield, her sword pointed at a divine messenger. Around her, bodies of fallen celestial scouts burned with crimson lightning.

Behind her, Mu Yinyin watched with folded arms.

> "Heaven will label you a traitor."

> "Let them," Yueru replied.

"My heart chose long ago."

She turned as her jade talisman lit up.

Huaian's voice rang out:

> "Yueru… we need you."

---

🕊️ The Message

When the two spoke through their talismans, the weight of the world seemed to pause.

> "They're watching me," Yueru whispered. "I'm the only one close enough to open the Vault gates."

> "Then will you help us?" Huaian asked softly.

Her silence stretched.

> "I've always known this day would come," she said. "The day I betray Heaven… for you."

> "I'll be waiting."

She turned to Yinyin.

> "We storm the gates in five days."
