They remained there for a while before he cleared his throat. She took the signal and pulled away.
His body felt warm where her hands had been.
"I feel much better now." She murmured and took a few steps back.
How come his embrace made her feel better in a house full of people far more interesting and open than he was?
"Now that I think of it, I have something you might like." He said.
Her eyes brightened like two pools of the sea.
"A gift?"
He nodded.
What if she didn't like it? Women hardly appreciated the sorts of things he liked to collect…
But it was just a feeling he had that she might like it…

Theodore stepped back into his room and opened the door, moving to the side so she could precede him.
For a moment, she hesitated - as though she were afraid to come in.
And he noticed that her eyes kept darting around the room, especially the bed, as if she were trying to check for anything she may have overlooked when she was making her escape.
