After Mehmed pasha was done writing his letter,he ordered one of the soldiers who was sitting in front of him to come closer.The janissary was so weakened due to extreme hunger,that he barely could get up.Mehmed pasha didn't get furious.On the contrary,he was serenely waiting for him.Finally,the janissary came near to his commander-in-chief:
-Why did you summon me?
-Look at this letter!I have just written it.This must be sent to Erzurum(City in Turkey).Lala pasha is there with his army.You know,he was going to invade Tavriz.But,I'm imploring him to come here and assist us with provisions and lots of janissaries.
-How are we going to deliver this letter to him?Can't you see,that Simon's soldiers are sieging us from every corner?
-You will use rope to jump from the fortress wall and steal one horse at once from the outside.Now,you need to eat plenty of food to regain strength and accomplish your mission.Go where the food is and eat whatever you want.Eat untill you are genuinely full and then you will depart.Is everything crystal clear?
-Yes,commander-in-chief!
-You can take food towards Erzurum.On the way you will need it.

The soldier went where most of the soldiers were and sat down at the table.He looked around and noticed,that every janissary in this room fell asleep.After making sure that no janissary would fight with him for food he started eating peacefully.He ate 3 slices of braised beef and 1 slice of boiled chicken.After he was done eating,he packed 10 apples and 11 pears in his bag.Mehmed pasha was observing his every movement.
-Are you done?
-Yes,commander-in-chief!Where is the rope you mentioned?
-Here it is!Take it swiftly and go!
Mehmed pasha passed the rope to the janissary.
-Take it and know that I will be grabbing the rope from the inside.After you jump down in the yard you will go alone towards the outer wall and assist yourself!Be cautious!

The soldier grabbed the rope,surrounded it around his waist and jumped down from the fortress.Soon,he ended up in the yard.Then,he went towards the outer wall,grabbed it with his rope and jumped down.He saw one soldier,but he was turned around.The janissary spotted the horse nearby and didn't waste any second.He got on the horse and rode it towards Erzurum.Unfortunately,Simon's Iranian soldier only noticed the janissary when he rode the horse.He ran towards Simon in order to inform him about this matter.In the meantime,the janissary had already gone faraway from the siege.
