Morning light filtered softly through the kitchen windows as Leo stood at the stove, carefully flipping eggs in the pan.
He had woken up first, slipping out of bed without waking Alex.
The apartment was quiet except for the low sizzle of butter and the distant hum of the city waking up.
Alex stirred in the bedroom, then padded barefoot into the kitchen wearing only sweatpants. He stopped in the doorway for a second, watching Leo.
"You're making breakfast," Alex said, voice still rough with sleep and surprise.
Leo glanced over his shoulder with a small smile. "You have an early flight. Figured you shouldn't leave on an empty stomach. Sit down. Coffee's almost ready."
Alex crossed the kitchen in three quiet steps. He wrapped his arms around Leo's waist from behind, pulling him back against his chest. His lips pressed warm kisses along Leo's bare shoulder and the back of his neck.
