Sarah's POV
Sarah watched Marcus and Grace move through the penthouse together and felt something like panic start to take root in her chest.
It had been five days since she'd almost killed Grace in Marcus's office. Five days since federal agents had arrested her and then mysteriously released her with new instructions. Five days since everything had started falling apart in ways she couldn't control.
Marcus was with Grace constantly. Not as a lover. He was careful about that. But as someone who would die to protect her. Sarah could see it in how his body angled toward her. How his hand stayed close even when they weren't touching. How his eyes tracked her movements like she was the only thing in a room full of threats.
That shouldn't have happened.
Sarah had planned for Grace to be isolated. She'd planned for Grace to be vulnerable. She'd planned for Marcus to remain focused on the family instead of on a woman who knew too much.
