Grace's POV
Grace realized she couldn't go to the bathroom alone anymore.
Not literally. Marcus wasn't standing in the stall with her. But security guards were positioned outside the bathroom door. Security cameras covered the hallway. Her movements were tracked the way a prisoner's movements were tracked.
She was being protected.
She was also being monitored.
Grace washed her hands and looked at herself in the mirror. She looked thinner than she had three months ago. The stress was hollowing her out. The cage was hollowing her out.
But when she walked out of the bathroom, three people were waiting to speak with her.
One of them was Carlo Festa. The old man who'd first asked her opinion about the Jersey operation. He had a problem with a warehouse operation that wasn't performing. He wanted to know if someone was stealing or if the operation was just poorly managed.
