Chapter 107 - Chapter 107: The shadow attacks

Poisudonom and the shadow creature both rushed towards each other. The other Alterids took a few steps back and watched the start of the battle.

"Who is he..." whispered Lily, confused. She was still carrying Vane, who was still bleeding from all over his body.

"Liro, do you know something?" asked Naluri. Liro's eyes were locked on the fight between the shadow and the Krukin, neither of them was able to hit the other for now.

"No… I have never seen someone like that in my entire life," answered Liro. He wanted to help the shadow, but they were moving too fast, it was impossible for him to join the fight with his magic.

The shadow rushed towards Poisudonom, swinging both his long claws and creating the shape of an X. Poisudonom tried to block the attack by closing his arms together. 'I must resist this attack!' This was the first real hit both the shadow and Poisudonom were giving each other, before, when one attacked, the other had simply dodged.

Poisudonom knew that he wouldn't be able to dodge this attack, that is why he chose to block it instead. The shadow jumped, crossing his two blades. The moment the blades encountered Poisudonom's body, the Krukin could only take a small step back, overwhelmed by the strength.

'He's strong…' thought Poisudonom. While the shadow was pressing as hard as he could, Poisudonom swung his tail towards the enemy. The shadow, not ready to block the hit, was thrown away in the same direction as the other humans.

His knee dragged on the ground. The few pieces of debris he found on the floor of the destroyed stage were simply crushed by his powerful body.

"Don't stay here! It's dangerous!" shouted the shadow. Poisudonom jumped and immediately started to roll on the ground, rushing towards the humans.

The shadow, seeing that the humans could barely move, sighed and grabbed all of them: Lily and Vane on his left, while Liro and Naluri were on his right.

Poisudonom was just a few seconds away before the shadow grabbed the humans and jumped away. "Tauren, I'll leave them to you!" shouted the shadow. Liro gasped, surprised to see Tauren right under their feet.

"Don't worry, Enea. I'll take care of them now," said Tauren. The shadow, whose name was Enea, landed on the ground gently. No one got hurt in his hands. He nodded his head and left to reach Poisudonom again, who was rolling towards the humans.

"Hey, Liro, long time no see!" said Tauren with a big smile. Liro remained shocked for a moment. Tauren grabbed something from a bag next to him and handed it over to the others; they were bandages.

"You know how to use these, right?" said Tauren as Naluri grabbed the bandages and immediately started to treat the poor, unconscious Vane.

"Tauren, you've arrived!" said Liro, walking closer to his friend.

"Yes, Liro, we're here. You don't need to worry anymore. Kael went to that other huge enemy while I already helped Darian," answered Tauren. He started to walk away towards the battlefield.

"Is the other one who helped before an Alterid of the Shakurn?"

"Exactly. He is Enea, a new entry for the Shakurn, but I'll explain it better later. I need to help him," said Tauren. He didn't even give the others time to answer before he immediately rushed towards the battlefield to help his friend.

"So, if I understood correctly, help has finally arrived?" asked Naluri with a satisfied smile on her face. Liro answered with a big smile too, unable to contain his excitement.

"YES! FINALLY, WE WILL BE ABLE TO FIGHT BACK!!" shouted Liro.

"By the way… I think you need to at least tell us who they are," said Lily, amused. The air in the group completely changed now that the help had arrived. With that, they remained hidden as Liro talked about Skar-Zhul.

"Enea, I'll help you!" shouted Tauren, rushing in. Both humans surrounded the helpless Poisudonom.

"Stay away… you will take all the fun away," said Enea to his friend.

'Maybe bringing him with us wasn't the right choice after all…' thought Tauren as he immediately stopped his friend. "We've talked about this, Enea. Without the help of friends, evil can't be beaten." Poisudonom remained confused, he was watching what looked like a father-son scene or a master-disciple scene happening right in front of him, during a war.

Enea turned his head away, annoyed. Tauren tried to get closer to comfort him. "Chill, Enea… there isn't anything wrong with getting help from someone." Tauren pressed his hand on Enea's shoulder, trying to comfort him. Poisudonom remained even more confused.

The Krukin noticed that the two humans weren't focused on him anymore and felt a bit envious. "You should not forget about me!" shouted Poisudonom as he swung his tail towards the two humans.

"Can you please stay out of this?" Tauren asked gently as he blocked the tail with only one hand. Poisudonom remained confused, lost his balance, and fell to the ground.

Now that Poisudonom was on the ground, he expected the other human to immediately attack him again, but it wasn't happening. Poisudonom remained shocked to see that, in his five thousand years of life, he had never seen two warriors arguing like that on the battlefield, and he started to laugh.

Tauren and Enea, hearing that, turned towards the Krukin, confused. Poisudonom tried to stop laughing. "You see… something like this has never happened to me before," he said, trying to return to a normal expression, especially now that the two humans were watching him with annoyed looks.

"I'll accept some help, alright… but don't you dare hit him even once. I need to vent all the anger in my body." With that, Enea immediately rushed towards Poisudonom, who was both happy to see the two warriors fighting against him again and worried, because he had to win a 1 vs 2 against two enemies who seemed more powerful than the others he had fought before.

Poisudonom swung his fist towards Tauren, who was able to block it with both hands. His body did not fall back, he was resisting.

The moment Poisudonom tried to swing his tail towards his enemy, Enea slashed his blade from the left. Poisudonom flew away, his body smashing against the ruins of a house.

Enea rushed again towards his enemy. Poisudonom jumped higher and started to roll on the ground again. Enea tried to stop him with the strength of his body, but it was impossible. The moment the two bodies crashed against each other, it was easy to tell which one had the advantage. Enea's blades couldn't do anything against the strength of Poisudonom, who was slowly overwhelming him.

"HEART OF THORNS!" shouted Tauren. Suddenly, Enea wasn't falling back anymore, in fact, his body wasn't in as much pain. As he turned his head, he saw Tauren falling to his knee, giving a thumbs-up to show that he was okay and that Enea should keep going.

Enea was slowly becoming able to win against the pressure of Poisudonom, who was surprised to see it. "YOU WON'T RESIST THE STRENGTH OF MY BODY!!" shouted Poisudonom as he rolled harder on the ground. As Enea was being overwhelmed, Tauren felt the same pressure on his own body and almost fell to both knees.

'Damn, that creature sure is powerful…' thought Tauren. He could feel it,how powerful the enemy creature was. Enea wasn't falling behind, his blades were resisting, even if he had to take some steps back.

"I'LL KILL YOUUU!!" shouted Enea with anger in his voice. Poisudonom didn't flinch, and with his powerful strength, he was able to win against the pressure of Enea. The poor boy was thrown away, and as he was launched, Poisudonom followed him, still rolling on the ground and gaining more speed.

As Enea flew, he didn't lose his balance, in fact, he was able to stop his body almost immediately by putting his blade into the ground. As the blades dragged on the floor, they left a small path. If someone had seen that during a normal day, they would have screamed and gotten mad at Enea, but now this small path was the least of the destruction happening to the city.

Kyujin was destroying the few houses still intact, it felt like her role was to leave nothing of the city standing, especially because she was throwing everything, even the smallest debris, into the ocean.

The moment Poisudonom rushed against Enea, the boy was able to get on his feet again. 'I won't be able to stop him… dammit!' thought Enea, his body overflowing with negative emotions.

Once Poisudonom reached him, Enea immediately dropped to the ground. Thanks to that, he was able to dodge Poisudonom's attack and started to run around the Krukin's whole body.

'We should let him get tired…' said a voice coming from Enea's mind. 'ARGH, SHUT UP! I DECIDE WHAT TO DO!' Enea argued in his mind against the other calm voice.

'Don't you dare come out now… you won't be able to handle him,' Enea thought as he rushed again towards Poisudonom. The other voice remained silent.

Enea rushed towards Poisudonom, who was still rolling on the ground. Poisudonom rushed towards Enea, who jumped and tried to reach the top of Poisudonom so he could strike from there.

The moment Enea was exactly on top of him, he was about to swing his sword, but Poisudonom's face was right there at the top, and he smirked. His body immediately returned to normal, and with his powerful jaw, he was able to block Enea's attack.

The human tried to move, but it was impossible for him to get free. Poisudonom threw him away, and Enea landed exactly next to Tauren.

"C'mon, it isn't over yet," said Tauren as he tried to get his friend up. He knew he couldn't do anything before, so he had left everything to him. Enea, annoyed, got up.

"I know…" said Enea. Poisudonom invited both humans to rush him. Enea and Tauren exchanged a glance before rushing towards the Krukin.

When Kael first arrived on the battlefield, Archilochus was overwhelmed by his magic and couldn't move. Kael slowly walked next to him. Archilochus tried to bite and hit him, but it was impossible; the gravity became heavier.

Kael walked towards the lifeless body of Garoo. "I'm sorry, we arrived too late…" Tears flowed down Kael's cheek just by looking at Garoo, even though he had never met him.

"Ahaha, he was weak. It's because of this city that he died," said Archilochus, amused by the scene. The tears disappeared from Kael's face the moment his eyes looked directly at his enemy.

"And I'm not weak. I'm sure that I'm even stronger than you," he said, grabbing Garoo's body and slowly moving it away from the battlefield. The moment he left, Archilochus was able to free himself from the gravity. With a big roar that could be heard from all over the town, he started to fly up into the sky.

"I swear I'll kill you!" shouted Archilochus as he flew directly towards Kael, who turned his face toward his enemy, looking angry.
