Chapter 108 - Chapter 108: The law of gravity

Archilochus flew at extreme speed towards Kael, who had just left Garoo's lifeless body near the ruins of the city. "Don't be so scared!!" Archilochus roared while he was swinging his wings as hard as he could. The rain had recently stopped but it was still really cold, thanks to this, Poisudonom could still survive, even though he was suffering.

He had spent so much time in the sea near these parts of the city that he had gotten used to it, but his body was now becoming weaker than before. 'Archilochus, we need to be fast…' thought Poisudonom as he dodged the swing made by Enea.

"MASS BLADE!" shouted Kael, really angry, Archilochus fell under the pressure of the gravity and hit the ground. The enemy didn't even get hurt, the moment he fell on the ground, he remained normal, as if nothing had happened, his body just couldn't move because of the pressure.

"Singular Gravity," Kael calmly touched his chest and the gravity for him became weaker. While Archilochus tried to free himself, Kael flew towards the sky to have a better view of the whole battlefield, but the moment he rose from the ground, someone else tried to hit him.

Kyujin swung some of her tentacles towards Kael. "DAMN!" Kael immediately made the gravity heavy for his body again, but now he was falling to the ground. "I'll take you!!" shouted Archilochus. Now he freed himself again and from his mouth he shot a powerful beam of purple water.

"Reverse Field!" Now anything that came next to Kael had its gravity made stronger, while for him it was weaker. Kyujin used her tentacles to hit him, but the moment they entered the space created by Kael, they were immediately pushed to the ground because of the gravity.

Kyujin, surprised, almost lost her balance. Kael thought that if the creature were to fall down, everyone in the city would probably die. As far as he could see, if she fell on the ground, her body would even reach the people who had run away. 'Just how big this creature is…' thought Kael. Suddenly, Archilochus shot another powerful beam towards him.

The moment the water entered the space created by Kael, the water was pushed down and couldn't even reach him. Kael watched the water down below, trying to see if something happened to it now that it had fell on the ground, but he didn't have time.

Kyujin seemed to have understood what was happening. With her other muscular arm, which was big enough to cover all the area created by Kael, she immediately swung it. Kael looked up just to see the huge arm about to fall directly on top of him. "Reverse Field!!" Kael, scared, immediately made the gravity around him lighter for all the creatures that entered inside of it, and he was still flying thanks to this gravity.

'The arm flew up,' thought Archilochus as he noticed the fact that the hand didn't go down anymore, but was pushed into the sky. Kyujin tried to push her hand harder. Kael screamed, trying to stop it. "SINGULAR GRAVITY!!" The gravity became even weaker for the hand, and it was flying higher now.

"You can't escape anymore!!" shouted Archilochus as another beam flew out of his mouth powerfully again. Now that the gravity for everything else was weaker, Kael couldn't make it return to being heavy, or the hand of Kyujin would fall over him, even though she was about to win against the gravity.

"MASS BLADE!" The water was pushed down by Kael's magic, but Kael was using all his strength now. 'Dammit, I might not be able to resist this anymore,' thought he while his whole body screamed. He was keeping active three different types of magic and he had to put a lot of strength into it.

"I need to risk this…" whispered Kael. From his pocket, he grabbed a small rock. 'It was a nice idea to take one of them before the fight.' This rock was one of the pieces of debris from Yalemba's houses that was destroyed. Kael threw the rock in front of him and shouted another spell, while removing his others.

"SINGULAR GRAVITY AND REVERSE FIELD!!" The moment all the magics were removed, each of the enemy's attacks could move freely again, but suddenly the gravity around the rock became stronger and all the attacks were drawn towards it. With another Singular Gravity, he was able to make his body get thrown away.

'And… NOW!!' Kael immediately removed the gravity from the rock and used it on himself instead just a few seconds before he was about to touch the ground. After that, he was able to land without any problem on the ground.

"I need to think carefully…" whispered Kael. He was able to hide in a small ruin of a destroyed building. He watched Archilochus carefully. "He must have some sort of weak point… but where the hell is it?" thought Kael. The more he watched Archilochus, the more it seemed like he was truly invincible in that form.

'I'm sure that the form has some sort of ending… but which one is it?' thought Kael. The only thing he saw was all the water going near him. 'Maybe he's getting charged by that wat-' Kael couldn't finish his thought, he was interrupted by Archilochus's roar.

"I'll take you, stupid human!!" shouted Archilochus. He moved his wings as fast as he could. The water was thrown directly from there and went all around the houses, destroying the few ruins still intact. "Damn!" Kael immediately rolled on the ground, seeing that Archilochus was about to destroy his hiding place.

Kael landed on this slimy water, the same one that came out of his wings. Kael was walking slower, moving his feet was harder there. It felt like he was in a sort of quicksand made of purple water.

"I see youuu… Come here, human!!" shouted Archilochus as he immediately rushed towards Kael at extreme speed.

"Singular Gravity!" Kael changed the gravity for his body again and started to fly, still not going up too much. He looked over at Kyujin, who seemed like she was searching for him, or she was simply destroying everything she found with her hands. Even though the whole city was already in ruins, there were just a few buildings still intact.

"It doesn't work!" shouted Archilochus. He swung his powerful claws towards Kael. 'He has claws too?' thought Kael, scared. He couldn't dodge it in any way, he just tried to protect his body with his hands. On his black clothes some scratches appeared and he was thrown away, his body dragging on the ground.

His hat fell next to him. Kael slowly removed all the dirt from it and put it back on his head. "I can't figure out his weak point… where the hell is it?" whispered Kael as he still looked towards Archilochus, who was now flying again in the sky.

Kael searched around for some clues, but nothing popped up in his mind. Archilochus roared and immediately launched himself towards poor Kael, who immediately looked up while the enemy rushed at extreme speed on top of him.

"Eat this!!" shouted Archilochus. Another powerful beam of water was shot from his mouth. "MASS BLADE!!" Kael tried to stop the attack of Archilochus, but it was hard. Not only did he have to stop the attack, but even the enemy's body, or else he would fall right on top of him.

Archilochus kept launching purple water without any problem, while Kael could barely resist anymore. The water kept coming, it felt like it was never-ending. 'Can he do it infinitely?' thought Kael as he looked up to the water that the enemy was throwing. Yeah, he was able to launch it from his mouth, but the water was entering his body again. 'His body can absorb the water he launches… WAIT.' Kael immediately felt like he was able to discover the secret behind Archilochus's final transformation.

'Before, the water wasn't entering his body because he wanted it to… it was because it absorbs it! Maybe once he absorbs it all…' Archilochus flinched at seeing Kael's smirk. 'Stupid human… why are you laughing when the end is near for you?' thought Archilochus as he kept creating water from his mouth. He didn't feel like Kael had discovered something really important.

'3…' The water on top of Kael was becoming stronger, but not because Archilochus was putting more strength into it. No, it was normal, in fact, it felt like it wasn't changing at all, it was barely becoming any bigger.

Kael looked around too and noticed that from Archilochus's tail some water was being absorbed, although it was the slimy water he launched before, so it was going slower and slower. '2…' Kael weakened his magic again. Now some water was able to free itself from the gravity and fell on the ground.

'1… NOW!' Kael immediately removed the gravity from both Archilochus's body and magic. The moment they fell on the ground, he used it on himself instead, flying up.

As the water landed on the ground, a small tsunami appeared because of the pressure. Thanks to his magic, he was able to stop it. Kael then landed not far from the enemy.

Kael remained still. It felt like he was searching for something on the ground, but the moment he tried to grab the small rock next to him, Archilochus roared and moved his wings again towards him. "You can't escape like this!" The water was thrown by the wings and it became even faster thanks to the wind generated by them.

"It won't work…" whispered Kael the moment the water was about to touch him. "Reverse Field!" The water couldn't touch him because it fell on the ground, while Kael remained still, as the gravity for him didn't change at all. "Tch… I'll come by myself!" roared Archilochus, rushing towards Kael. All the water around him was entering his body again.

'Waiting for all the water to enter his body again might not be the best solution… I don't know for how much longer I can resist…' thought Kael as he looked over his body. Multiple scratches had appeared over it and he started to bleed. "This fight won't last much longer!" shouted Kael. "Exactly… because you're dying now!"

Kael looked directly at him without any fear. He knew exactly what he had to do.

"Legs… don't leave me now!" He kicked the small rock next to him as hard as he could. The rock, thanks also to the gravity, was launched at extreme speed. It opened a hole right inside the body of Archilochus, which closed almost instantly. "Ahahah, what the hell was that? You thought it was enough?" Kael shook his head.

"Obviously it wasn't… but my main purpose wasn't to create a hole inside your body…" Kael smirked. Archilochus looked behind him just to see that the rock was still there, flying on top of his body.

"REVERSE FIELD!" shouted Kael. Suddenly, all the gravity around the rock became heavy. With his hand, he made the field even bigger. Now all of Archilochus's body was being drained towards the rock. "What do you expect to do? I will free myself instant-" Archilochus tried to move his wings, but he noticed that it wasn't possible anymore because they were stuck to the rock. Archilochus's wings created a sort of whirl as the rock was exactly between them.

"What do you hope to get with this?" shouted Archilochus. Kael, now on his knee because of the excessive use of his magic, looked at the enemy, smirking. "This." Suddenly, the debris all around Archilochus started to fly.

"ARGHH!!!" shouted Kael. Everything was being drained by the rock, but the strength wasn't enough for the rocks. Kael knew it well, but it wasn't his main purpose.

Archilochus watched the rock that rose up from the ground, confused. 'It can't be…' What the rock was attracting wasn't other rocks… all the purple water that remained in the city, thanks to the gravity around the rock, was being attracted by it.

"I noticed your secret… you won't win today!" shouted Kael. Archilochus roared in panic.

'Damn… Poisudonom, get here… FAST!!' thought Archilochus, really scared now. All the water immediately went first towards the rocks, then was attracted by the other rock on top of Archilochus. The water went for that, but once it reached the rock, the water was attracted by Archilochus's body and it fused again into his body.

"It—IT WON'T WORK!!" shouted Archilochus as he tried to shoot the water from his mouth towards the rock on top of him. "I won't let you do that!!" Kael started to scream as he had to win against the powerful strength of the water beam created by Archilochus.

The beam wasn't like the other one that happened before. This one was stronger and was increasing in power every single second. Kael fell once more to his knee while he tried to keep the rock still, winning against the powerful force from Archilochus.

Suddenly, the rocks around Archilochus weren't attracting any more water. Kael looked around and saw that no more purple water was around. "This is the end…" whispered he as he kept screaming. Suddenly his vision turned blurry. He had used so much magic in just a few seconds that his soul could barely keep up anymore, and now he was still using it.

"NO NO… NOOOOOO!!" shouted Archilochus as he understood that it was the end. The moment the water entered inside his body, he couldn't do anything anymore. His naked body fell on the ground and Archilochus returned to his human form.

"Damn… it shouldn't have ended like this," whispered he as he smashed his fist into the ground. Kael's legs shook as he walked towards him. "This… is what you get when you underestimate the gravity."
