Chapter 85 - Chapter 85

Chapter 85:

Elizabeth Carter, standing at the doorway, felt her eyelids twitching. Was this exorcist's method really this direct?

But she hadn't seen anything at all! Would her daughter be beaten to death?!

"Damn exorcist! I'm going to tear your soul apart!" the female ghost inside the girl cursed madly.

Yang Jian ignored her completely and continued slapping her one after another, controlling his strength perfectly.

Each slap made the ghost feel unbearable pain without actually harming the girl's body.

Soon, the girl's face was bright red, but the black energy under her skin was rapidly dissipating.

"Last one."

Yang Jian said as golden light glowed in his palm. He pressed it heavily against the girl's forehead.

"Get out!"

"Ah!!!"

A black shadow was forcibly ripped out of the girl's mouth and coalesced into a hideous female ghost form in mid-air.

She tried to escape the moment she appeared, but Yang Jian grabbed her by the neck.

"You were cursing quite happily just now?" Yang Jian asked with a smile.

The female ghost struggled wildly, her rotting face twisting: "Let me go! I'll…"

Yang Jian didn't give her a chance to finish. He tightened his five fingers.

Bang!

The female ghost exploded into a cloud of black mist and completely dissipated.

The room instantly returned to normal temperature.

The girl on the bed slowly opened her eyes and weakly called out.

"Mommy!"

Elizabeth rushed over and hugged her daughter, crying tears of joy: "Emma! You're back!"

Yang Jian clapped his hands: "Done."

"What? Done?" Elizabeth stared in shock.

Yang Jian clapped his hands again and gave them a gentle smile.

"That's right. It's taken care of."

Elizabeth finally came back to her senses and asked shakily.

"Is she… dead?"

"Satan didn't even get a chance to see her."

Yang Jian shrugged. "Don't worry. She won't bother you anymore."

Emma suddenly broke free from her mother's embrace and rushed to Yang Jian, tilting her little face up to ask.

"Uncle, are you a superhero?"

Yang Jian was momentarily stunned, then showed a gentle smile and ruffled her soft golden hair.

"Sort of."

Elizabeth wiped her tears and bowed deeply to Yang Jian.

"Sir, thank you so much! Name any price. I will definitely…"

Yang Jian waved his hand: "We can talk about payment later."

His gaze swept toward an antique vanity mirror in the corner of the room.

"That mirror — may I take a look?"

Elizabeth nodded quickly: "Of course! Feel free to look!"

Yang Jian walked to the vanity mirror and gently ran his fingers across its surface.

The frame was carved with intricate patterns. The mirror surface was unusually clear, even reflecting the golden light flowing in his eyes.

He could tell at a glance that this mirror was not normal.

Yang Jian turned to the two of them: "Ma'am, this mirror is a medium."

Elizabeth asked nervously: "What do you mean?"

Yang Jian said calmly: "Your daughter's séance game was just the trigger. The real problem is this mirror. It was cursed to specifically attract evil spirits."

Elizabeth gasped: "Then… what should we do now? Should we destroy it?"

Yang Jian smiled: "Destroying it would be a shame. This mirror is an antique and worth quite a bit."

He lightly traced a line across the mirror surface with his finger. A golden light flashed. The mirror trembled slightly, then returned to calm.

"Done. The curse has been cleared." Yang Jian turned to Elizabeth. "You can sell it if you want."

Elizabeth let out a long breath and said gratefully: "Sir, I really don't know how to thank you."

Yang Jian waved casually, a faint smile on his lips.

"As long as the matter is resolved. But the payment still needs to be paid."

Elizabeth immediately understood and quickly said: "Please wait a moment. I'll go prepare it right away."

She hurried out of the room. Her high heels clicked rapidly on the floor and soon disappeared down the corridor.

The room fell quiet for a moment, leaving only Yang Jian and Emma sitting on the edge of the bed.

The little girl tilted her delicate little face. Her big blue eyes stared unblinkingly at Yang Jian, full of curiosity and admiration.

"Big brother," she suddenly spoke, her voice still a little weak.

"How did you do that just now? That bad thing has been bothering me and Mommy for so long. We asked so many people but none of them could drive her away."

By the end, her voice trembled slightly. Her small hands unconsciously gripped the edge of the blanket.

Yang Jian sat down on the edge of her bed and gently ruffled her soft golden hair.

"It's fine now. That bad thing won't bother you anymore."

His palm was warm and strong, making Emma unconsciously relax.

The little girl's eyes suddenly lit up: "Big brother, can you stay for dinner?"

She tugged at the corner of Yang Jian's clothes. "Mommy's apple pie is super delicious, and her signature soup…"

She even exaggeratedly swallowed her saliva.

Yang Jian was momentarily stunned. Looking at the little girl's expectant eyes, he couldn't help laughing.

"You really want me to stay?"

Emma nodded vigorously, looking at Yang Jian with anticipation.

"Yeah! I want to hear more amazing stories from big brother!"

At that moment, hurried footsteps came from the corridor.

Elizabeth pushed a delicate silver cart into the room. On it sat a black metal safe.

There were still fine beads of sweat on her forehead. She had clearly run all the way to get the money.

"Mr. Yang," she said, still slightly out of breath.

"Here is ten million in cash. Please check if it's enough."

She opened the safe. Inside were neatly stacked crisp new dollar bills.

Yang Jian only glanced at it casually before closing the box.

"That's enough."

He stood up and casually stored the safe into his system space with a wave of his hand.

"By the way," he turned to Elizabeth, his tone casual.

"That antique mirror — it's best to deal with it as soon as possible."

Elizabeth's face immediately turned pale.

"I'll have someone come take it away tomorrow."

"If you don't want to sell it, you can deal with it right now."

Yang Jian interrupted her, his voice leaving no room for argument. "Take it to the yard and burn it. Remember — watch it burn completely to ashes with your own eyes."

Elizabeth nodded repeatedly.

"I'll do it right away."

Yang Jian said no more and walked toward the door.

Emma suddenly jumped off the bed and ran to him barefoot. She opened her arms and gave him a hug.

"Goodbye, big brother! Remember to come visit me!"

The little girl's body was warm and soft, carrying a faint milky fragrance.

Yang Jian was momentarily stunned, then gently patted her back.

"Okay. I'll come if I have the chance."

When he walked out of the villa's main door, the sunset had dyed the entire courtyard golden.

Yang Jian stood on the steps, his gaze sweeping across every corner of the garden.

Although the evil spirit had already disappeared, a faint trace of dark energy still lingered in the air.

Like a thin black thread, drifting faintly into the distance.

"Where are the exorcists of this world? Where have they all gone?" Yang Jian murmured softly.

His figure gradually merged into the twilight, leaving only a faint trail of footsteps.
