Chapter 86 - An Ordinary Barber & The knock

Rose and Caspian entered a barber shop, a barber already there to greet them.

He was an ordinary barber, he had average looks and a goatee, nothing special about him at all. He simply slightly bowed down and welcomed them in with a normal smile, though his eyes looked slightly evil.

He had a bald head, which had a single strand of hair at the top, which the barber usually brush using a comb that he would keep with him at all times. Even Rose and Caspian could still there was something strange about him but neither of them thought it was something dangerous.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, miss," The barber said with a smile but slightly evil eyes. "Would you like to get a haircut?"

"No, It's actually him getting one," Rose said, gesturing towards Caspian, who looked extremely frustrated. "I don't get her sometimes, the hell's wrong with her?" Caspian thought. "My hair doesn't look that bad?"

The barber looked at Caspian. "Oh? I see. Very well," He said, pointing his hand towards a chair, in which Caspian soon sat.

With that, Caspian soon got his haircut and both Rose and him left peacefully.

"Was it alright to let them leave like that?" One of the other barbers asked. "Did you forget what Dr. Gabriel said?"

"It's fine. After all, I have a slight feeling that we'll meet again," The barber said with a creepy grin. Though in the very next second, his smile faded and his entire face turned serious. "Also, mind your language."

On the other hand, Rose had sat in the car, Caspian holding the door for her. However, suddenly, Caspian's hair started to turn white. Extremely slowly, to the point that you wouldn't be able to tell.

Ronx reluctantly knocked on Tristan's door, Alex right next to him.

And as soon as they heard footsteps getting louder and louder, Alex grabbed the sheath of his sword, ready to attack instantly while Ronx sharpened his eyes, prepared to use his blood manipulation ability at any time.

But when Tristan opened the door, both of them were confused and shocked. It was just a random person, sure he did have a good physique and had a slightly sad and blank expression, everything else about him was average. Both of them couldn't sense any danger coming from him.

"Is your name Tristan?" Ronx asked in a very serious tone.

"Ah, well...I think that was the name my mother gave me, yes," Tristan answered with a depressed face.

Ronx and Alex glanced at each other with mixed expressions. "Mind if we come in?" Ronx asked.

"Hm...of course," Tristan said, moving to the side.

Both of them hesitated but came in anyway, closing the door behind them. And guess what?

Zombie had seen everything. He had returned to Elephant City and was observing the house from afar. "Isn't that Ronx and Alex?! Why are they here...?"

Meanwhile, inside the house, Ronx and Alex felt at ease. Everything was kept clean and it looked like an ordinary home. Except for the fact that there were dolls sitting on the couch, watching TV.

"Ah, don't mind them. They don't speak that much," Tristan said, sitting on a chair. "Please, sit."

Both of them sat, keeping a good amount of distance from the dolls. "So...? What brings you two here?"

None of them answered but after a small moment, Alex teleported behind Tristan and aimed his sword towards his throat. "Don't move," Alex said in a cold voice.

Surprisingly, Tristan didn't even react yet alone flinch when Alex had teleported behind him, it was almost as if he had expected it. Tristan looked at his own throat before Alex had even teleported and Ronx had noticed. "Alex, be careful. He has some type of future sight ability."

Alex glanced at Ronx and then to Tristan. "Good bye," Alex said, cutting off Tristan's head, which fell onto the ground with a hard thud, blood leaking out instantly.

"That was easier than expected...too easy, in fact," Alex said with a doubtful look, not sure if had killed Tristan. Though, he didn't have to wait long for his question to be answered as Tristan came out of the kitchen. "Would you like chicken or beef?"

Ronx got up and summoned his blood soldiers, which started swinging at Tristan. However, Tristan simply stood still and let their swords slash him.

Once they did, his body began to fade and suddenly, Alex and Ronx were the backseat of a car and in front of was a driver, who was speeding in a school zone. And before any of them could speak, the car crashed, killing Ronx and Alex instantly or so they thought.

In the next moment, they were standing in front of Tristan's door, in the same position as when they had knocked. "What on...earth?" Ronx said, his skin pale.

Alex was also slightly shaken by this and was currently trying to figure out what happened. Though, before they could, Zombie's voice came from behind. "Hey!"

Ronx and Alex turned their head and took a few steps back, ready to attack Zombie. "This might be a trap, kill him instantly if he comes near."

"Wait! It's the real me," Zombie said, putting his hands up. "I know Tristan's ability."

"And what is that?" Ronx asked, still cautious.

"His ability allows him to put people under illusions, meaning their mind goes into a fake reality. When Ronx had knocked, that's when he must have used his ability. Which means that whatever you had witnessed and did, never happened," Zombie explained.

Both of them listened to this, causing Alex to speak. "We need to figure out a weakness."

"Does he even have one?" Ronx said with a doubtful face.

"He has to," Alex replied.
