Chapter 85 - A light in the dark

First person POV - Zombie

I had lost my parents at a young age. They had apparently been killed by someone, probably a random murderer. However, despite coming back from school and seeing them lying-flat on the doorstep, several knifes stuck onto their body, I felt nothing. No emotion, no sadness. I simply had a blank face. Which caused me to be nicknamed, "Zombie" at the funeral.

"I feel bad for the boy but...why isn't he crying?" A lady said, probably a relative. "Did...he murder them?"

"What an emotionless creature!" Another lady said, "He should be ashamed of himself!"

"Give him a break, he might be too shocked or something, you know?" Her husband said.

Yes, I am ashamed but I can't help it. I just don't feel anything. Why won't they understand me? I am simply born a bit different than others...that's all. I guess I'll just be alon-

"Hey, my parents said that they'll take you in!" Vivian said, about the age of nine. "By the way, don't listen to them! It's not your fault that you aren't sad!"

Who was this girl? I didn't know. But she was the only light in my dark world, a hope, a reason to live.

"Ah, wait. I still haven't found out who my parent's killer was," Zombie said, putting the hand back in the drawer. "I'll die after that."

"Now...what the hell should I do with his body?" Zombie said with a sigh.

Ronx and Alex arrived at Elephant City, their menacing aura made every gangster, thug and drug dealers to look in the other direction. "Where the hell do we find this person? That old man died before he could tell us any details," Alex said, looking around.

"It's simple. We ask," Ronx said with a smirk. "It's not like anyone can do something against us."

Alex sighed, "you just never change."

With that, they started asking around.

"Do you know who this guy is?" Alex said with a cold face, showing a photo of Tristan.

The gangster nervously shook his head. "I-I don't know!"

Alex looked at him with a doubtful face and grabbed his hair, punching him until his face was broken. "I can tell by your face. You know who this person is."

"I really don't!" The gangster replied in a trembling voice. "There's a person that might know who this guy is! He's just a few hundred meters ahead! He has green hair and-"

Alex punched him in the face again. "That's a lie."

"For someone, who was against this idea, you are really enjoying this, huh..." Ronx said with a surprised face.

"I am not enjoying it. This is simply how I ask," Alex replied, punching the gangster until he finally confessed.

"Okay! Okay! Wait!" The gangster said, blood spilling out of his mouth and nose. "His name is Tristan and he lives near Block A, house 13."

"I see," Alex said, knocking him out with a powerful punch. "Time to see what this Tristan guy is all about," Alex said.

Caspian woke up in a hospital bed, several bandages covering his body. It was a miracle that he even survived.

He saw Rose looking at him with a worried face while Kael was angrily staring at him, his arms crossed. "Rose...I am sorry."

"Sorry...? There is no need to be sorry," Rose said with a smile. "After all, you helped me escape."

"But your wounds..." Caspian said, his voice weak.

Rose quickly hid the wounds on her body and said, "It's fine! Really. It's nothing compared to what you go through. Plus, these are just some minor wounds that'll be healed in no time."

"I see...well, I am fine so you can leave. sorry for wasting your precious time," Caspian said to Kael with a face that didn't seem sorry, just tired.

"Great," Kael said, immediately leaving.

Rose was about to stop him but Caspian grabbed her hand. "Don't, he's not in a good mood right now."

"Huh? He didn't look to be in a bad mood when he was with me," Rose said, slightly confused.

"What?" Caspian said in a low voice, surprised.

"Anyway, when are you going to be discharged? Are you feeling better?" Rose asked, not hearing Caspian.

"Yea...by the way, thanks," Caspian said. "Thanks for healing me with your power."

Rose slightly flinched. "What...? How do you know?!"

"I knew it a long time ago," Caspian said. "Anyway, I am feeling a lot better so it's about time we head out."
