Chapter 290: Willingness
Giselle Frost liked seeing Elias look shy and awkward.
That version of him came closest to the boy in her memory. Not the spoiled young master Serena Blackwood had made, not the bright, arrogant boy who threatened to call the police the moment a woman got too close, but the Elias who used to hesitate, lower his eyes, and pretend not to understand how easily he could make someone's heart move.
The corner of Giselle's mouth lifted slightly.
Her voice stayed calm. "Which things?"
Elias answered without thinking.
"Obviously holding my hand, and kissing…"
He stopped halfway.
Only then did he notice Giselle's expression.
The words at the edge of his mouth were swallowed back at once. Shame and anger rose over his face, as if he wanted to condemn her for something but was also afraid of provoking her into doing it again. His lips moved a few times in a way that looked almost comical.
In the end, he said nothing.
He only glared at her faintly.
