Chapter 289: Remembered?
Elias's resistance was weak enough to make it worse.
Giselle Frost did not give him room to finish begging. She pressed his words back before they could become anything useful, and under the gaze of those blue-gold eyes, tears slipped from him again, one line after another.
"I… I remember…"
At last, under Giselle's pressure, Elias forced the words out in broken pieces.
Giselle stopped.
She did not move away completely. She only stared at him, eyes deep and fixed, as if she intended to read every flicker on his face and decide whether he was lying again.
Then she spoke lightly, giving the "criminal" one chance at acquittal.
"What do you remember?"
Elias's breathing was still unsteady.
"You took me to see the ocean…"
"Only that?"
"The reason I wanted to see the ocean was also you…"
Giselle's face remained cool.
