Chapter 56 - Abstract.

Silas felt the force on his shoulder then a loud yell in his ear.

"Bastard!"

Silas felt the hands let go of his shoulders and turned around.

There stood Emmett, frowning at him.

"Brother why didn't you tell me? Aren't we close?" Emmett asked dissatisfied.

Silas smiled wryly.

"But you didn't tell me…"

Emmett crossed his arms.

"But you already knew."

Silas raised an eyebrow.

"Sure… but you didn't know I knew… did you?"

Emmett got quiet after that, then he laughed.

"I was just messing with you brother, I understand."

Silas smiled.

"I thought you were acting strange." He said.

Emmett nodded.

"Are you heading for lunch?" Emmett asked?

Silas nodded.

"Yeah."

Hearing that Emmett smiled.

"Then let's head there together."

As they walked down the corridor they soon heard a pitter patter against the floor behind them.

Before long Silas felt another pair of strong arms around him.

But this time it wasn't on his shoulders but his waist.

"Alice, are you trying to scare me?" Silas asked teasingly.

"Hehe, I was just happy to see you." Alice denied.

She let go of him and instead grabbed his hand.

"Are you two heading to lunch?"

Silas and Emmett nodded in sync.

Alice joined them in their little walk and soon they arrived at the cafeteria.

Silas was the first to enter and he headed for the cafeteria line to buy his usual, Alice was in tow like always.

He quickly bought what he wanted then he bought what Alice usually bought.

When they arrived at their lunch table and sat down Alice pinched him in the side lightly.

"You know I don't eat human food… why do you still buy it for me?"

Silas smiled.

"So I can eat it."

Hearing that Alice was baffled, then laughed.

The other Cullens also looked at him strangely.

Just then Jasper frowned and asked.

"Do you need to eat?"

Hearing that everyone looked at Jasper then Silas, all of them had been very curious about Silas and what he was.

Silas had just taken a bite of his apple when Jasper spoke.

He quickly chewed the apple and shook his head.

"No, but I like eating. Gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins, after all."

Hearing that the table went silent. Then Emmett burst out laughing.

"You're really a special one."

Silas rolled his eyes. Are you saying this, good brother

Alice on the side just sighed and shook her head, and as she did that she pushed her apple and juice over.

Unbelievable.

Just then Jasper, who had asked the question, spoke again.

"At least Esme will be happy to hear that."

All of the Cullens put on thoughtful expressions. He was right.

But then the conversation shifted from Silas to something else.

"What are we going to do with that vampire who is on our territory? He was spotted last night again by Emmett and Rosalie." Edward asked in his usual gloomy tone.

Then the Cullens started to discuss this in very hushed voices.

Silas looked over at Alice and shot her a questioning gaze.

Seeing this Alice explained.

"Some time ago a vampire wandered into our territory, and he had a fight with Jasper and Ella. "

Silas nodded, feeling that this sounded familiar.

"He's a very strong vampire, he took on both Jasper and Ella, and Jasper is one of our strongest fighters."

Silas took another bite while nodding. He seems to have heard of this… but when?

"He is also a vampire with red eyes, meaning he drinks blood."

"And last night he was spotted in the woods by Emmett and Rosalie."

The more Silas listened, the more familiar they sounded. Until it clicked, wasn't this Viktor?

Silas quickly took another bite of the apple to hide the absurdity.

Hearing their plans Silas chimed in.

"Has he really done anything?" Silas asked.

Hearing his question all gazes turned to him, and Jasper answered.

"No… he doesn't seem dangerous, but it's a fact that he is a danger."

Silas nodded.

"Maybe…" He said.

The rest of the lunch passed in a similar fashion. No more earth shattering information.

Silas walked out of the cafeteria with Emmett and Alice.

"We got math now… right?" Silas asked.

Emmett nodded.

"Yeah, let's grab our stuff and head over there."

Silas said goodbye to Alice and followed Emmett to his locker.

After they grabbed their stuff they hurried to the math class.

The class was boring as usual.

To find the tangent equation where x=1 and similar stuff.

Boring.

But Emmett was constantly bugging him about if he cheated when they played video games last weekend.

"Did you use your powers when we played games last weekend?"

Silas shook his head.

"No."

Emmett glanced at him with disbelief.

The whole class passed like this.

When the bell rang, Silas rushed out of the classroom and towards his locker. He wanted to get to art as soon as possible.

He was tired of Emmett, he wanted his kind and gentle Alice.

He arrived at his locker and threw in his stuff.

When he arrived at the art classroom Alice was already inside sitting in their usual spot.

Silas walked down and sat down.

"Are you ready for some art?" Alice asked with a smile.

Silas nodded.

"Yeah."

He had actually grown to like this pseudo subject…

When the teacher walked in the students slowly stopped talking.

Not because they feared this teacher, quite the opposite, everyone liked her and thus they were usually quiet in her classes.

She stood at the front and started to write on the board.

"Today students, we are going to paint abstract art."

Silas frowned.

Abstract art?

The more he listened the worse his face became.

I take back what I said previously. I don't like this airy fairy subject.

What is this? She's basically saying you just need to throw on some paint.

The teacher walked around and handed out a canvas to each student.

When she arrived as Silas and Alice, she smiled and said.

"I'm excited to see what you two will cook up."

Silas nodded trying his best to hide his displeasure.

When the teacher left he just sat there looking at his canvas and sighed.

What am I supposed to paint?

A few minutes later he just picked up his brush and started to do some brush strokes.

He didn't have any plan in mind, he just moved his brush mindlessly.

When the class ended his canvas was filled with weird patterns and vivid colors.

Alice looked over and chuckled.

"You got a talent for this."

Hearing that Silas frowned in displeasure. Was that a compliment or insult?

I'm voting insult.

Just when he was sitting there and frowning in displeasure the teacher walked over.

"Amazing!" She exclaimed.

Her outburst nearly made Silas fall off his chair.

Silas looked over at the teacher who was absorbed in the painting.

"Is it really good?" Silas said and glanced at his painting in disbelief.

The teacher nodded.

"It's definitely one of the best I've seen… it belongs in an art museum."

Now Silas frowned. Let's calm our horses. This flattery is too much for me.

The teacher then looked at Alice's painting, and although she liked that one a lot as well, she didn't have the same outburst seeing that one as with Silas's.

She walked back to Silas and asked.

"Could I get to hang this painting in the classroom?"

Silas was confused but nodded absentmindedly.

Why not?

The teacher got happy, grabbed the painting and walked away, it was as if she was afraid Silas would regret it.

Seeing this Silas shook his head. Weirdo.

When he looked at Alice she was smiling at him smugly.

"What's up with that look?" He asked.

Alice quickly shook her head.

"No, nothing."

Silas shook his head. He didn't wanna think about it.

He stood up and pushed in his chair. Alice did the same, then they walked out.

They quickly got the stuff they needed in their lockers and headed for the parking lot.

Now it was time for Alice to visit Silas's house.

...

Enjoy. Mwah~
