Chapter 55 - Under Attack!?

Silas was sitting in biology class and looking out the window.

He glanced over at the empty seat next to him and sighed.

How sad Kate isn't here.

Just then the teacher tapped the board with his hand causing Silas to look over.

"Students! Students!"

Everyone looked at him with questioning gazes.

"Remember we are going to the greenhouse tomorrow… so you need a signed permission slip."

The students nodded and took the chance to start whispering but Silas was confused.

I haven't heard of this… how am I supposed to get a permission slip signed?

Silas frowned.

Should I get Viktor to sign it?

Wait! I kicked him out… and he won't be getting back until the day after tomorrow..

Should I call him? No! How will that reflect on me?

He was lost in thought… can't I just sign it myself?

There's no way that the teacher will look closely, right?

Silas reached up his hand and called over the teacher.

"Hello Silas." Mr. Banner said.

"Hello. Mr. Banner, I need one of those permission slips."

"Yes, I forgot to give you one, sorry."

Silas shook his head.

"No, it's fine."

He grabbed the permission slip the teacher handed over.

"Thanks"

The rest of the class passed smoothly, no other surprises.

Silas walked out and headed for his locker, he had to get his clothes for PE.

Which he had to pack himself… to be honest Silas might have underrated how much Viktor does for him.

Or it was just a coincidence that he would need him so much in a short period of time.

Arriving at his locker he threw in his books and grabbed his gym bag.

I hope we're doing something that's fun in this class.

He quickly went to the changing room and switched into PE clothes.

When he arrived at the gym the teacher was standing in the middle waiting for all the students to arrive.

Silas looked around as he walked over.

This looks like… soccer? Are we going to play soccer?

Hmm. Better than what we did last time at least.

Hopefully this school doesn't have any weird rules but just follow the normal FIFA ones.

He stood in the makeshift circle the teacher wanted them in.

Slowly the gym was filled up with more and more students and the circle had expanded twice.

Then the teacher blew the whistle.

"Alright students, today as some of you might have guessed we are going to play soccer."

Everyone nodded along.

"I will sort you into teams, and no complaining you didn't get with your friends."

"And if the score starts to be too unequal I will switch you around a little, alright?"

Silas was a little dissatisfied but again this is school, everybody gotta have fun, if one team is too good it will just make the other team not want to play.

"Silas, you're in team 2." The teacher said as he walked by.

He looked towards the group with the red vests and walked over.

The girl holding the vests smiled and said.

"Hello, Silas, hope you will lead us to victory."

Silas smiled slightly.

"I will try." After he said that he looked over his team.

It wasn't the best team… that's for sure.

And I'm pretty sure one of them hasn't even changed clothes… he's just dressed like that normally.

Sigh.

Slowly the games started, and Silas's team was first out against the yellow team.

Silas tried to make some type of formation with him as the striker.

But as expected it fell apart immediately the whistle blew.

Silas ran up to the opposition and took the ball from some poor kid with braces.

He quickly dribbled past another kid who came as support.

As he closed in on the goal he realized… the other team doesn't have a formation.

No. They just all parked in front of the goal like a wall.

Silas cursed.

I should've guessed it.

But he feinted one of them he was gonna shoot and he stepped out of the way in fear of the ball.

So he took the chance and shot in the opening.

The goalie had a fake sense of security as he watched the wall, so he was dazed.

But before anyone could react the sound of a ball hitting the net rang out.

Whistle~

"Red score!" The PE teacher rang out.

"Beautiful goal… but you need to pass."

Before Silas could say anything the teacher shouted.

"There are some new rules. The goal won't count if you haven't passed the ball at least three times."

Hearing that Silas was bewildered. What are these rules?

I get wanting to include everyone… but my team doesn't wanna be included.

They are still standing gathered at the goal, talking.

Silas frowned. How am I supposed to play this?

He walked back to his team.

"I need you to cooperate with me, alright?"

They nodded.

"Two of you are going to run up with me, and stay close, we just need those three passes then we can score."

"Do any of you wanna play?"

He looked at them, and they looked at him.

Damn… there are no thoughts behind those eyes. It's like locking eyes with a cow eating.

Eat, breathe, shit, sleep and repeat. Oh, I forgot, puke up your food and eat it again.

Finally one of the girls and one of the boys stepped up.

The girl was the same one who had handed him his vest, and the boy was one he had played basketball with a couple of weeks ago.

"You guys' wanna play?"

They nodded in unison.

"I can't shoot straight, just so you know." The boy said.

"Me neither." The girl chimed in.

Silas nodded.

"It's fine, you just need to stay close and pass the ball back to me after I've passed it."

They nodded uncertainly.

Seeing this Silas sighed.

"It's fine if you fail, we're just here to have fun, no need to feel pressured."

The atmosphere got a little lighter after that.

The next round started, they were still going against the yellow team.

Silas pushed up with the two tools and grabbed the ball from one of the opposing team members.

He quickly passed it to the girl and she passed it back, it was a little off but he still caught it.

Silas then evaded one of the opposing team members trying to take the ball.

He quickly turned around and passed to the boy.

But… he messed up, when he passed back he hit the ball wrong, sending it to one of the opposing team.

Silas clenched his jaw.

Unbelievable, we are like two meters apart. Are we dead ass?

Silas quickly changed course and headed for the ball.

But he had to seem human, or teenage human, he couldn't use powers to play like a pro.

So after running after the ball like some dog, he finally got his feet on it.

After a few close call dribbles he finally got a clear shot of the goal.

This time the goalie was a little more awake, he probably got shit from his team members after barely even trying the last time.

But in the end it was futile.

Silas quickly got the ball inside.

The next few rounds against yellow went more smoothly.

And then it was time to switch teams.

Silas went to sit down on one of the benches. The next team was green vs blue.

Looking over these two teams Silas frowned.

Is Mike not here today?

Silas felt that the only one to be fun to play against would be him… but the rest of these students clearly had no passion or ambition.

And I'm not saying that you need to love soccer… I myself don't really care much for it.

But… at least participate, like other games we play during PE.

Sigh.

Couldn't the teacher just make us do laps instead. Simple and you don't need to think much about others.

The game with green vs blue was long and uneventful. But finally the game ended 1:1

While Silas's game with yellow ended 3:1.

Then it was Silas's team's turn again. It was red vs blue.

The game passed similarly to when they played against yellow.

After a few minutes they won. With 2:0.

Then the teacher spoke out.

"This took longer than I had expected, but I hope you had fun, we'll keep playing next week."

With that the class ended.

Silas breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards the changing room.

As he walked out the changing room he couldn't help but think about lunch.

Was it going to be awkward now?

After all, there has been an imbalance in their relationship where he has known what they are, but they haven't known what he is.

As Silas was pondering this he felt two strong hands on his shoulder, enough to make a normal person's knees buckle.

He was under attack.

...

Happy (slightly late) Easter!

Last week was amazing, we hit 65 Power Stones, which is a new record. Seriously, thank you all for the support.

Let's push even higher this week.

Hope you enjoy the chapter. Mwah~
