"She just left. Not too long ago." K informed.
"Where did she go?"
"So, the lake."
"Hmm, I see. And the rat?"
"He followed soon behind her."
Caesar got up from his chair grabbing his jacket. "He finally came out of hiding; we would be fools to miss such an opportunity. Let's go." As they walked to the car, Caesar could sense his aide's distress. "What is it?"
"How are we to trust that she is not still working with him to make another attempt at you?"
Caesar could give K a list of reasons why to alleviate his doubts, but K has never truly trusted Lenette from the beginning. Then with everything that happened and her alliance with Sterling, his distrust ran even deeper. No amount of words could fix that, he would most likely let it be just because Caesar would be the one telling him. "I cannot say for sure."
"Then why bring her back?"
"Because I can trust myself to handle her when I need to."
