"That is all of them, at least the ones I know about. He did not trust me so there could be places he never told me about." Lenette explained to K.
"Hmm. I see, this is a good list. Considering the situation, he might not even hide out in these places, knowing you have knowledge of them. But we can still use them to trace him and make him desperate enough to make a mistake. That would be, of course, the best-case scenario."
"And what would be the worst-case scenario." She mindlessly asked making conversation. She never really expected an answer from the aide, but he stated it so matter of fact that she regarded asking.
"Using you as bait." K really was not her biggest fan at the moment. She always got the sense that he was just tolerating her presence because he had too, because of his boss. But it never got to the point where she could sense active hostility from him. Now, however, he found creative ways to let her know were she stood with him.
