It was a sunny day. The sun shined bright over the clan. And after a few hours it started to set. It left golden beams to shine.
Nevooa was walking through the clan bored. He didn't want to train, build, or even eat. He walked to the hills that and climbed up them.
Once he was at the top he kept walking around. He enjoyed the view. It was nice, it was pretty.
In the distance he saw Komodo. Komodo was also staring at the view.
Nevooa said to himself, "Is Komodo always up here staring at the sunset?"
Nevooa walked up to him and sat down. They stared at the sunset together watching slowly set.
"Komodo? When we were fighting Invierno why did take so long to activate your tentacles." Nevooa asked.
"It's because... It's something I struggle to do now." Komodo replied.
"Why do you struggle."
"Because I'm not the same as before."
"Well, how were you before."
"Alright, Nevooa. I'll tell you a story about myself." Komodo said, "It happened around fifty years ago."
"I had a friend. She was my friend since I was at an academy in the clan. For awakeners who have children they send them to the clan's academy. And I met her there. We grew up together, she was my light. But one day she decided that the world was wrong. And she was killed for that. I never forgot, I never forgot the day they killed her. And now I'm trapped. Unable to get stronger." Komodo spoke.
"Oh wow, I feel really bad." Nevooa said looking down.
"Now... I am nothing but a caged bird." Komodo said, "The power that I once held was powerful now I struggle to do what I once did easily."
"A caged bird." Nevooa said in his heart.
Tears flowed out of Komodo, "I- I regret not saving her. I could've changed her mind. I-"
Komodo kept talking about how much he regrated not saving her. It went on for a few minutes.
Nevooa zoned out while Komodo kept yapping. Nevooa thought to himself, "Komodo is a caged bird. He can't let go of the past because he doesn't have anything to move towards. No goals, no purpose, no anything."
"But," Komodo went on, "I want to become a better person. When we were fighting Invierno I realized something. I realized that I must break free from the chains that confine me."
"Could I ask you something?" Nevooa said. Komodo nodded his head. "What was the name of this girl."
"Her name was-" Komodo stopped before saying, "Her name was Ganzhi Tiankong."
There was moment of silence. Nevooa was talking in what Komodo was saying while Komodo was still thinking and reflecting.
"Hey when you go on missions you act like a completely different person." Nevooa asked.
Komodo wiped his tears before saying, "I have to act differently. If I show a sign of weakness my opponent could take control of that."
There was another moment of silence until Nevooa stood up.
"Thanks Komodo. I think I understand you more." Nevooa said with a soft smile looking at the sun.
The sun had almost set only leaving a bit of light left.
Nevooa went down the hills and left.
Komodo still sat there observing the sky.
The person who was the owner of the mysterious voice was there. They were clinging onto Komodo. Although Komodo was cold he did not move. His eyes were set looking at the horizon.
"Are you actually going to break the chains, Komodo?" The voice said.
"I will, I promise, Ganzhi." Komodo said.
"Although I'm a spirit, I will keep watching you. I'll always be there for you Komodo." Ganzhi's spirit said.
Ganzhi's spirit spoke again, "Remember, you have to shine bright. You have to be the brightest in the sky... And how will you do that. If you're going to die by Nevooa"
"I will teach Nevooa, to become something greater." Komodo said.
"Will you teach him the same ideas that I had? Hehehe." Ganzhi giggled.
Komodo spoke. "No, I don't want to break him. I don't want to give him the solitude that I have. If he has the power to rival Novak then... Maybe he could. But I don't want to. For that to happen he'll have to figure it out himself."
Komodo laid down staring at the stars. And then fell to sleep.
