Mikoto stood to the side, watching Sarada play happily, a doting smile appearing on her face.
Sarada usually didn't have many friends outside of her classmates at the Ninja Academy.
At home, aside from watching TV, there wasn't much entertainment for her.
Seeing Sarada laughing and playing so happily with Kaien, Mikoto genuinely felt relieved.
With Sarada riding on his back, Kaien didn't feel anything inappropriate or uncomfortable. Children were like this—it was completely normal.
"Alright, Sarada. Come down from Brother Kaien's back. It's time to eat," Sakura said as she finished cooking and came out of the kitchen.
Sarada was very obedient. Hearing Sakura's voice, she immediately climbed down and sat at the dining table.
"Brother Kaien, after dinner, I still want to ride a horse!" Sarada blinked her big eyes, looking at him expectantly.
"Okay. After dinner, we'll ride again," Kaien agreed without hesitation.
"Kaien, don't spoil her too much," Sakura said helplessly.
"What's wrong with spoiling kids? Children are meant to be spoiled," Kaien replied casually.
As he spoke, he placed food into Sarada's bowl and said with a chuckle, "Come on, little Sarada. You're growing—eat more."
"Thank you, Brother Kaien!" Sarada smiled sweetly and began eating obediently.
Dinner passed quickly, and Sarada immediately wanted to play again.
"Sarada, you just ate. Let your Brother Kaien rest for a bit," Sakura quickly stopped her.
"Brother Kaien~" Sarada tugged at Kaien's clothes, acting spoiled.
"If Sarada wants to ride, Brother Kaien will play with you for a while," Kaien said with a laugh.
"Yay! Brother Kaien is the best!" Sarada cheered, clapping excitedly.
Sakura shook her head helplessly and went to the kitchen to clean up.
After washing the dishes, Sakura returned to the living room and sat with Mikoto, watching Kaien and Sarada play.
"It's getting late, Sarada. Time for bed," Mikoto said gently after a while.
"But I still want to play!" Sarada pouted unhappily.
"No. It's already late, and you still have school tomorrow," Mikoto coaxed softly.
Sarada pouted and looked at Kaien with pleading eyes.
"Be good. Listen to Grandma and go to bed," Kaien said with a smile, patting Sarada's head.
Sarada puffed out her cheeks, stared at Kaien for a few seconds with her watery eyes, then obediently followed Mikoto upstairs.
Watching them go, Kaien sat down beside Sakura.
"Sarada is really cute," he said.
Sakura's heart skipped a beat when Kaien sat close. A faint sense of anticipation rose in her chest.
"I rarely see her this happy," Sakura sighed softly.
Kaien wrapped an arm around Sakura's waist and said quietly, "Then… Sakura, are you willing to let Sarada be happy?"
"Let go!" Sakura whispered shyly, pushing him. "My mother-in-law and Sarada are upstairs."
But Kaien tightened his hold, leaning close to her neck and murmuring, "Sarada is missing a father's love."
Sakura froze.
A trace of sadness appeared on her face.
She knew it better than anyone.
Ever since Sarada could remember, she had never experienced fatherly care. She used to ask where her father was, and Sakura could only give vague answers.
Eventually, Sarada stopped asking—but whenever she saw other children with their fathers, her eyes would fill with envy.
"How about… I become Sarada's father," Kaien whispered into Sakura's ear.
"Huh?!" Sakura looked up at him in shock.
"I promise," Kaien said seriously, "I'll treat Sarada like my own daughter."
Sakura fell silent. Then she shook her head firmly.
"No. Absolutely not."
Seeing her resolute refusal, Kaien didn't push the topic further.
Instead, he lifted Sakura and sat her directly on his lap.
"W-What are you doing?!" Sakura exclaimed in a panic.
"Shh," Kaien pressed a finger to her lips. "Don't let Aunt Mikoto hear."
"What do you want?" Sakura asked softly.
"Sarada rode for a long time earlier. I'll let you ride for a bit too," Kaien said with a mischievous grin.
"No… I don't want to," Sakura refused immediately—though deep down, she wasn't completely opposed.
"Then if you won't ride me, I'll ride you," Kaien said wickedly, pushing Sakura onto the sofa as his handsome face drew closer.
"Mmm—!"
Sakura's eyes widened as his face came close, her heart pounding violently.
Kaien's nose brushed against her cheek. Breathing in Sakura's faint fragrance, he couldn't help but kiss her.
"Mmm~"
Sakura struggled instinctively at first, but soon melted under Kaien's dominant, fervent kiss.
Her body softened, her breathing quickened, and she gradually stopped resisting, letting him kiss her freely.
In truth, with Sakura's strength, she could have easily broken free and pushed him away.
But she didn't.
Perhaps, deep down, she also longed to be close to Kaien.
They kissed deeply, passionately, until both were nearly out of breath. Only then did Kaien reluctantly pull away.
"Hah… hah…" Sakura gasped, her eyes glistening with a misty red glow, unbearably alluring.
This wasn't her first intimacy with Kaien, yet every time, a strange, indescribable feeling surged in her heart.
"Sister Sakura… you're so beautiful," Kaien said softly, gazing at her flushed, delicate face.
Sakura lowered her head shyly, her face burning as unfamiliar emotions spread through her.
Seeing her like this, Kaien leaned in and kissed her again.
This time, Sakura didn't dodge.
She closed her eyes and responded willingly.
"Sister Sakura… I want you."
